A.J. Robinson

In 2023, Robinson helped the Cougars to a very successful season, winning the NCAA DII West Regional and advancing to the NCAA DII National Championships in Chattanooga, Tennessee. The Cougars finished in fifth place at the National Championships and ended the season ranked No. 7 in the country in the 2023 Final NFCA Division II Coaches Poll. Robinson along with Head Coach Stef Ewing were named the 2023 NFCA West Region Coaching Staff of the Year in NCAA DII. This was the third NFCA Regional Coaching Staff of the Year honor for Robinson. In 2022, Robinson assisted Coach Ewing in leading the program to its first CCAA Championship and a NCAA Division II era program record 45 wins. The team received the No. 1 seed in the NCAA West Regional and finished one win away from punching their ticket to the NCAA National Championship Series. The team had two NFCA All American players and led the conference in many statistical categories including wins, batting average, runs scored and RBI. The team finished the year ranked No. 11 in the final NFCA Division II Coaches Poll. For the 2021 season, Robinson was a volunteer assistant coach at San Diego State and helped the Aztecs to an overall record of 28-16. Robinson severed as a volunteer coach for CSUSM from 2018-2020 and was named CSUSM Volunteer Assistant Coach of the Year in 2020. He helped the squad earn their highest-ever team grade point average in 2020. Robinson is the founder and president of The Factory Softball Club based in San Diego. In 2018 and 2019, he and his coaching staff earned West Region Travel Ball Coaching Staff of the Year honors from the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA).

Andrea Leonard

Andrea Leonard has set a strong foundation for CSUSM volleyball since being named the program's first coach in 2011. Leonard has collected five Coach of the Year accolades during her time at CSUSM including the school's first-ever CCAA Coach of the Year in 2017. In the four years competing in the CCAA, Leonard has coached 14 All-CCAA honorees, 27 CCAA All-Academic selections and 10 CCAA Fall All-Academic honorees. Leonard started the 2004 season with the program's first win over Rhode Island in 13 years. The Eagles went on to win the first annual Big East Challenge with wins over Rutgers and Connecticut. BC also became the first conference team to sweep Notre Dame in regular-season play at home since 1984, snapping a 58-game Irish win streak. Leonard also coached BC's first Big East Libero Player of the Year in Allison Anderson.

Anthony Heredia

Anthony Heredia was named Assistant Cross Country/Track & Field Coach in July 2021 and will be in his second year coaching sprints, hurdles and distance/mid distance for the Cougars. Heredia originally joined the Cougars in the fall of 2018 as the program's volunteer assistant coach for cross country/track & field. In his first two seasons with the Cougars, Heredia assisted in coaching three All-West Region honorees in cross country along with an individual qualifier to the NCAA national championship and three All-CCAA honors along with one NCAA national championship qualifier in track. In the fall of 2019, Heredia assisted in the men's cross country first team appearance at the NCAA Championships with a 12th place finish and an individual All-American honoree.

Bobby Renneisen

Bobby Renneisen was named CSUSM's head women's soccer coach in June 2014 after spending the previous eight seasons as the lead assistant for the Cougar men's and women's soccer teams. Between 2012 and 2014, Renneisen served as Associate Head Coach for both the men's and women's soccer programs. Renneisen, who has coached at CSUSM since the school adopted men's and women's soccer in 2006, is responsible for the day-to-day operations for the women's soccer program, on the field and administratively. He holds a 53-49-35 record in nine seasons at the helm of the program.

Daniel Melara

Daniel Melara joined the Cal State San Marcos Department of Athletics as an Assistant Athletic Trainer in August 2021. Melara was previously an Assistant Athletic Trainer for the University of San Diego from 2012 to 2021 and was responsible for football, women's soccer, baseball, golf, volleyball, softball, cross country and men's rowing at different times in his tenure. In addition to his duties at USD, Melara was also an adjunct professor at San Diego City College from 2015 to 2019. Melara served as the Head Athletic Trainer for the West Coast Conference Basketball Championships in March 2012, the NCAA Division I Women's College Cup in December 2012 and the West Coast Conference Men's and Women's Tennis Championships in April 2011 and 2012. From 2010 to 2012, Melara served as a Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer at USD and was responsible for the administrative assignments, evaluation, prevention, rehabilitation and management of the healthcare needs for women's soccer, men's tennis, softball and spirit while assisting with football. Melara served a season intern with the San Diego Chargers during the 2009 season and served as a summer camp intern with the Minnesota Vikings prior to the 2009 season. Melara is a 2010 graduate of San Diego State and received his Master's in Kinesiology from SDSU in 2012.

Dario Frias

Dario Frias was originally named Assistant Women's Basketball Coach in July 2016 and began his second stint with the program in July 2021. Frias spent the previous three seasons as an assistant at Cal State San Bernardino, where he was on staff with current CSUSM Head Coach Renee Jimenez and former CSUSM Assistant Coach Tina Samaniego from 2013-15. At CSUSB, Frias served as the director for camps and clinics, in addition to providing support for individual player and skill development. He coordinated all prospective student-athlete visits, organized team travel, monitored academic progress and developed marketing and recruiting plans to increase the Coyote fan base. Frias helped CSUSB to back-to-back appearances in the CCAA Championship semifinals. He spent the 2012-13 season as an assistant at NCAA Division III La Verne. The Leopards ranked second nationally in scoring and 3-poitners made per game. Between 2006-12, Frias was the varsity head coach at Jurupa Valley High School in Mira Loma. He went 107-60 in six seasons, including five 19-win seasons. He reached the CIF quarterfinals in 2009-10, reached the CIF Second Round four times, and helped 14 players move forward to the collegiate level.

David Nathanson

David Nathanson was named Cal State San Marcos Assistant Director of Athletics, ACES (Academics, Compliance, Eligibility and Student Services) in August 2017. As the Assistant Director of Athletics for ACES, Nathanson oversees the eligibility certification process in conjunction with the Registrar's Office, the monitoring of NCAA initial and continuing eligibility and oversees the administration of all athletic scholarships and CSUSM Athletics' National Letter of Intent program. Nathanson continues to help oversee the Health and Wellness programming for all student-athletes. In addition, he oversees the admissions process for all student-athletes as well as housing and orientation. He has continued to serve on a variety of campus committees including the Alcohol, Tobacco, and Other Drugs (ATOD) committee and the University Hazing Education Team. He previously held the position of Student-Athlete Support Services Coordinator beginning in January 2015. In the role of the Student-Athlete Support Services Coordinator (SASSC), Nathanson oversaw the student-athlete's academic and personal growth and success. Nathanson managed the mentoring program and the Cougar P.R.I.D.E. program while also serving as a liaison with the Dean of Students Office, Disabled Students Service, Student Health and Counseling Services, and the Career Center helps ensure that CSUSM student-athletes get the academic and personal support they need to succeed in all facets. The purpose of the SASSC position is to evaluate student-athletes' needs and then help ensure that they are then being met. The SASSC also serves as the SAAC advisor and helps evaluate student-athletes for NCAA continuing eligibility. He was appointed to the role after serving as the Coordinator of NCAA Transition Requirements in September 2014. He coordinated all aspects of the NCAA transition, including the NCAA's visits to campus. In addition, he evaluated department policies and procedures to ensure that CSUSM was in compliance with NCAA Division II policies. Nathanson came to CSUSM after a year as Director of Academic Enrichment Program/Compliance Intern for Cal State San Bernardino. At CSUSB, he oversaw supervised the study hall program for all student-athletes, created study plans and enrichment goals and assisted in coordinating student-athlete development activities. Nathanson earned a B.A. in History from the University of Oklahoma in 2006, where he was a member of Phi Beta Kappa. After working as a Family Intervention Specialist between 2006-09, Nathanson earned his Juris Doctor Degree from the Indiana Maurer School of Law in Bloomington, Indiana in 2012. Nathanson currently lives in Temecula with his wife, Jennifer. He is a lifelong, diehard Miami Dolphins fan who loves French Bulldogs and collecting LEGOs.

Dr. Bennett Cherry

Dr. Bennett Cherry (PhD, The University of Arizona) is Professor of Entrepreneurship and Management in the College of Business Administration at California State University San Marcos. In 2004, he was appointed by President Karen S. Haynes to serve as the CSUSM Department of Athletics' Faculty Athletics Representative (FAR). His major areas of research include nascent entrepreneurs, fanatical customer behavior, new venture creation, employee engagement, and humility and trust in leadership. This research has been presented at international conferences and published in numerous academic and practitioner-oriented journals. Dr. Cherry enjoys teaching college students both in California and abroad. Beginning in 2013, he has taught in Austria at the University of New Orleans' International Summer School at the University of Innsbruck. In 2016, he began leading an annual International Business Travel Study Tour to Germany, Austria, and France. In 2017, he expanded his European summer teaching to include the Aarhus University Summer University program in Denmark. These immersive experiences are in keeping with Dr. Cherry's desire to expose students from varying backgrounds to the wonders and opportunities involved in travel and business amidst multinational and cultural differences. In his consultancy, Dr. Cherry works with organizations to identify new market opportunities and to improve existing product and service offerings. Dr. Cherry is also an active board member of various local not-for-profits and serves as a member on the CSUSM Foundation's Finance & Investments Committee.

Greg Hutton

Greg Hutton has served as the CSUSM men's head coach since the 2010-11 season and was named the women's golf head coach in the summer of 2014. Hutton's 2018-19 squad made CSUSM history by claiming the 2019 NCAA Division II National Runner-Up trophy in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida on Saturday, May 18. Jaime Jacob became CSUSM's first NCAA Division II National Champion with a one-stroke victory after carding an even-par 219. Three Cougars were named to the 2019 Women's Golf Coaches of America (WGCA) All-America teams. Hutton is CSUSM's first two-time CCAA Coach of the Year while Jacob repeated as CCAA Tournament Individual Champion and the Cougars collected their second consecutive CCAA Tournament Championship. Hutton guided the 2017-18 women's squad to the school's first California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Championship win and he was also named CCAA Coach of the Year. Jacob was also CSUSM's first-ever CCAA individual tournament champion. Jacob was named to the 2018 Google Cloud Academic All-America® Division II At-Large third team.

Jason Stock

Jason Stock joined the Cal State San Marcos Department of Athletics in the fall of 2012. Originally hired as CSUSM's Assistant Athletic Director, Stock was promoted to Associate Director of Athletics for Compliance in 2014. Stock oversees, administers and ensures institutional control in all phases of the compliance program. He makes sure CSUSM complies with NCAA and university regulations. He was a major contributor during the NCAA Division II process (2014-17). Prior to his time at CSUSM, Stock spent five years as Academic Support Manager for the Santa Clara University men's and women's basketball teams under the umbrella of the Department of Compliance and Student Services. He was also involved with providing NCAA rule interpretations to SCU coaches, staff and student-athletes, serving as a liaison to the NCAA Eligibility Center to ensure the enforcement of NCAA initial-eligibility requirements. Stock earned his master's degree in Business Administration from SCU in the summer of 2012. Stock earned his Bachelor's in geography from UCLA in 2005. While an undergrad student, he worked in the Bruin athletic marketing department. Prior to working at Santa Clara, Stock worked Group Sales for the Southern California Tennis Association's Countrywide Classic Tennis Tournament and as the Manager of Community Relations for the Los Angeles D-Fenders of the NBA Development League, an affiliate of the Los Angeles Lakers. Stock was married in June 2014 to his wife, Rocío and currently lives in Escondido.

Jillian Shields

Jillian Shields originally joined the Cal State San Marcos women's soccer staff as Volunteer Assistant Goalkeeper Coach in August 2014 after an extensive club and collegiate playing career. She was later named of the program Assistant Women's Soccer Coaches in 2015 and began her second stint with the program in July 2021. Shields attended San Diego State in 2005 and 2006 before transferring to Vanguard University, where she become one of the most decorated goalkeepers in the NAIA. She was named a NSCAA All-America in her first season at Vanguard in 2007, when she also earned All-GSAC and all-region honors. Shields was honored as a NSCAA All-America honorable mention selection in 2009. A 2005 graduate of Carlsbad High School, Shields was a four-year varsity letterwinner for the Lancers. She spent her club days playing for Carlsbad Lightning Premiere (1998-2004) and Southern California Blues (2004-06). She also competed with the CalSouth Olympic Development 87 Team from 1999-2002.

Jordan Friske

Jordan Friske was appointed Assistant Director of Athletics, Clarke Field House on June 26, 2017. He had previously served as the Fitness & Operations Supervisor for Campus Recreation since July of 2013. In his new role, Friske oversees the Clarke Field House operations and manages the athletic fields, game day set-ups, facility memberships and the personal training program at the Clarke Field House. Friske also conducts the hiring, training, and supervising of over 40 student staff that operate the Athletics Facilities, including the Clarke Field House and The Sports Center. In addition to these duties, he serves on the ATOD (Alcohol, Tobacco, Other Drugs) committee. When serving as the Fitness & Operations Supervisor with Campus Recreation (under the umbrella of Student Affairs), Friske supervised the Clarke Field House, the operations student staff of approximately 50 students, and all fitness programming, including the group fitness class schedule and all fitness special event programming. Friske was a graduate assistant for Community Fitness at South Dakota State University prior to joining CSUSM. A South Dakota native, Friske received his Bachelor's degree in Health, Physical education, and Recreation in 2011. Currently, Friske lives in Escondido with his wife Emily and daughter Adelaide.

Jordan Vina

Jordan Vina enters his second season as a volunteer assistant coach with the Cal State San Marcos baseball program in 2024. He works primarily with the infielders, base runners, and has assisted Head Coach Jose Garcia with recruiting efforts the last two years. Vina is the Cougars first base coach.

Jose Garcia became the third head coach of the Cal State San Marcos baseball team on Aug. 1, 2022. In his first season with the program in 2023, Garcia's Cougars finished 20-25 overall with a 14-21 CCAA record to finish ninth in the conference standings. Luke Reece and Nick Schnopp earned All-CCAA second-team honors while Preston Kelly and Josiah Torres were named honorable mentions. Garcia came to CSUSM from fellow CCAA member Chico State where he was the top assistant coach and recruiting coordinator for the Wildcats. Joining Chico's staff as a student assistant in Fall 2012, Garcia helped the Wildcats notch 286 victories, seven postseason appearances, two CCAA Championships, one NCAA West Region Championship and one College World Series appearance in 10 years with the program. Garcia is a graduate of Chico State and earned his bachelor's degree in Kinesiology with an emphasis in coaching. He later earned his master's degree in School and Counseling Psychology with an emphasis in Positive Coaching from the University of Missouri in 2017.

Matthew Aldama was named the Assistant Men's Soccer Coach in July 2021. Aldama was previously the team's Volunteer Assistant Coach for the 2018 and 2019 seasons. A 2018 graduate of the University of Saint Katherine, Aldama has also been the Assistant Director of Coaching for the Vista Storm Soccer Club since 2017. He has also obtained his USSF "D" and "E" Licenses.

Mindy Mills has served as the Cal State San Marcos Assistant Sports Information Director since July of 2014. Mills will be the lead media contact for women's volleyball, men's and women's cross country, women's basketball and men's and women's track & field at CSUSM. Mills comes to San Marcos after six years as Sports Information Director at Cal State Monterey Bay. CSUMB is a NCAA Division II institution that competes in the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA). Appointed in July of 2009, Mills' primary duties included: gathering and maintaining official statistics; distributing news releases to hometown, regional and national media; maintaining otterathletics.com; coordinating all interview requests for players, coaches and staff; and overseeing live audio and video of select CSUMB contests via the internet. She served on the SIDEARM Select Committee in 2013, an advisory board for SIDEARM Sports that is comprised of various representatives in the field of college athletics. SIDEARM Sports is the web provider for the CSUSM Athletics website, csusmcougars.com. Prior to her time at CSUMB, Mills was the Media Relations Director at Menlo College, a small NAIA school located in Atherton, Calif. During the 2004-05 season, Mills served as the assistant SID as well as the assistant men's and women's volleyball coach at University of Rutgers-Newark. A native of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Mills was a member of the University of Wisconsin-Parkside volleyball team for two years before transferring to IPFW for her final season. She went on to earn her Master's Degree in Communication at IPFW while serving as the graduate assistant in the sports information department.

Nick Booker

Nick Booker was named the Cal State San Marcos men's basketball team's third head coach in program history on June 5, 2023. "My family and I could not be happier to join the Cougar family," Booker said. "We are excited about becoming part of this tight-knit community and contributing to its continued growth and success. Cal State San Marcos was an easy choice for me. It is a transformative educational institute in one of the most attractive areas in the United States. The University's commitment to academic excellence and its very successful athletics program, despite being in its infancy in NCAA Division II, make it an exceptional opportunity." Booker comes to CSUSM from UC San Diego where he was the Tritons' assistant coach beginning in June 2020 and was the program's interim head coach in March 2023. In his three seasons at UCSD, Booker helped the Tritons transition from NCAA Division II to Division I and coordinated the recruiting efforts that led to back-to-back Freshmen of the Year. He was also a member of the Tritons' diversity council that strategized ways to continue to reinforce the core values of inclusion at UCSD. "Nick's impressive career trajectory and coaching philosophy for helping student-athletes succeed both on and off the court aligns with our mission of student success and social mobility," said Viridiana Diaz, CSUSM Vice President for Student Affairs. "He has a track record for using a holistic approach to address the physical, social, emotional and mental needs of student-athletes while helping them become great players and positive societal contributors. I'm confident Coach Booker will continue to build on the success of the program and will be a champion for our current and future student-athletes." Prior to UCSD, Booker was the associate head coach at Eastern Washington University from April 2017 through May 2020. Booker was responsible for leading player skill development with emphasis on post players and on-court coaching with defensive emphasis. He also oversaw academic monitoring, recruiting, practice planning, in-season opponent scouting and summer camps. In three seasons at Eastern Washington, Booker helped the Eagles win 59 games overall, 41 in Big Sky Conference play and a Big Sky championship in 2019-20. He also helped develop a pair of Big Sky Players of the Year: Bogdan Bliznyuk (2017-18) and Mason Pealting (2019-20). As a result of that success, on May 16, 2020, silverwavesmedia.comacknowledged him as one of the top 50 impactful NCAA Division I assistant coaches in the nation, and Booker was also named as the top assistant coach in the Big Sky by Stadium. In April 2016, Booker returned to his alma mater Davidson College as the director of basketball operations, and before that, he was at UC Irvine as the director of basketball operations from September 2010 to March 2011 before being elevated to assistant coach from April 2011 to March 2016. Booker spent time at Saddleback Community College in Mission Viejo as an assistant coach and interim head coach from July 2007 through August 2010 after his first coaching gig as an assistant at Miramar Community College for the 2006-07 season. "We are very excited to welcome Nick Booker to our Cougar family as our head coach for men's basketball," said Morod Shah, CSUSM Associate Director of Athletics. "Nick's coaching experience along with his local ties here in the San Diego area is exciting for CSUSM men's basketball, our department and our community. I look forward to working with him and watching his impact on our student-athletes and our campus." The Davidson grad earned his bachelor's degree in history in 2004. He was a member of the Wildcats team under former Davidson head coach Bob McKillop. He was a starter for the 2002 Southern Conference championship team that competed in the NCAA Tournament against Ohio State. As a senior, Booker led Davidson in blocked shots and steals. In his time playing for the Wildcats, he was a two-time Defensive Player of the Year and contributed to back-to-back regular-season conference championships in 2001 and 2002. Booker earned his master's degree in physical education from Azusa Pacific in 2010. An Oceanside native, Booker is married to his wife Alayna and has four children: Philip, Kaleb, Ella, and Madisyn. "This is a surreal moment, and I am greatly humbled to be the next head coach at CSUSM," Booker said.

Paul Signorelli

Paul Signorelli was named Head Athletic Trainer at Cal State San Marcos in September 2018. Signorelli's sport assignments for the 2018-19 season are men's soccer and men's basketball. Signorelli joins the Cougars after 19 years as associate athletic trainer at NCAA Division I University of San Diego. During his time with the Toreros, Signorelli worked with eight of the 17 NCAA sponsored teams. During his years at USD, Signorelli was responsible for mentoring graduate assistant athletic trainers and athletic training students, structuring education for coaches and administrators on topics such as concussions, sickle cell traits and heat related illnesses, along with providing the best possible care for his student-athletes. Signorelli graduated from San Diego State in 1994 with his Bachelor of Science in Applied Arts and Sciences: Physical Education with an Emphasis in Athletic Training. Signorelli worked as an assistant athletic trainer at the University of Rhode Island in 1997 to 1999 where he was responsible for the care of five NCAA Division I teams. He graduated with his Master of Arts, emphasis in Biomechanics and Athletic Training from San Diego State in 1999. Signorelli is a member of the National Athletic Trainers Association (NATA), along with being an American Heart Association BLS Instructor, Healthcare provider and Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED.

Renee Jimenez

Renee Jimenez was named the Cal State San Marcos head women's basketball coach on May 22, 2015. Jimenez brought a wealth of knowledge as a head coach in the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) and has compiled a 243-144 record in the past 15 seasons. She has coached 40 CCAA All-Academic and 20 CCAA Winter Honor Roll (All-Academic) awards. Jimenez is a 2004 graduate of San Francisco State University, where she played three seasons for the Gators and became the school's all-time leading 3-point scorer. Her coaching career began at Stanford (2004-05), where she served as a video coordinator for Hall of Famer Tara VanDerveer. After leaving Stanford, she spent three seasons (2005-08) as an assistant coach at San Diego State.

Ryan Cacha

Cacha comes to CSUSM from Cal State East Bay, working in the same position since September 2021. Prior to CSUEB, Cacha was the Interim Assistant Athletic Trainer at the University of San Diego from October 2020 to June 2021 and was responsible for all aspects of health care in the athletic environment for USD's women's soccer team. Cacha spent July 2018 through May 2020 as a Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer at Jordan High School in Sandy, Utah, where he provided athletic training care for over 400 student-athletes across 40-plus teams.

Stef Ewing

Ewing was named CSUSM's head softball coach in August, 2018. She is the fourth head coach in program history. In four full seasons on the field, Ewing has produced 13 All-CCAA/All-Star honorees, 38 CCAA Spring Honor Roll recipients, 20 D2 ADA All Academic achievement award winners and 49 CCAA All-Academic award winners. Pitcher Carly Slack was named 2021 CCAA Championship Scholar (newly named Elite 13 Award) after graduating with a near perfect academic record and a degree in Business Administration. 2023 - The 2023 season was a landmark year for the Cougars (33-21) as Ewing led the team to its first-ever NCAA West Regional Championship and a berth in the NCAA DII National Championship in Chattanooga, Tennessee. The Cougars went on to finish in fifth place at the World Series and a final NFCA Division II Coaches Poll ranking of No. 7. (Poll). The Cougars earned several awards including Makenzie Guiliano being named to the National Championships All-Tournament Team, Bianca Gutierrez to the All-CCAA first team while Gianna Lombardi, Paige Donnelly, Savannah Coyle and Madison Waymire got All-CCAA second team nods. Ewing and Staff were named the NFCA West Region Coaching Staff of the Year. Ewing also received her 4-Star Master Coach certification from the NFCA during the season. 2022 - The 2022 season was one for the record books for the Cougars. The team won a NCAA Division II era school-record 45 games and it's first ever CCAA Conference Championship. The team finished one win shy of punching their ticket to the National Championship Series in Denver, falling in game three of Super Regionals to CSUDH. Numerous awards were handed out following the season including two NFCA All-American awards (Third Team) to freshmen Paige Donnelly and Savannah Coyle. The pair were also All-CCAA first along with Bianca Gutierrez. Nikki Andelin and Jayline Sloss received All-CCAA second team. Donnelly, Gutierrez and Coyle were named to the NFCA All Region team. Coyle was selected CCAA Freshmen of the Year while Donnelly took home CCAA Newcomer of the Year. Ewing was named the CCAA Coach of the Year in 2022.

Stephen Wren

Stephen Wren joined the CSUSM Department of Athletics staff on July 1, 2017. In September 2020, Wren was named the Associate Director of Athletics, Budget and Financial Operations. Under his original title, Wren was the Associate Director of Athletics, Business Operations. Wren now oversees all high-end budget matters dealing with all budget oversight for the department in addition to all financial reporting. Prior to joining the CSUSM athletic staff, Wren worked as a Budget Analyst in University Budget Office for four years, serving as a Senior Budget Analyst his final two years. He contributed to the implementation of new strategic planning initiatives and led the annual budget process and midyear review. Wren earned a bachelor's degree in Communication from CSUSM in 2010, graduating Cum Laude. He resides in San Marcos with his wife, Raeanna.

Todd Snedden

Todd Snedden was appointed by Director of Athletics Jennifer Milo to the position of Associate Director of Athletics on July 1, 2012. He oversees all internal operations of the department, academics and student support services, health and wellness programming, the scholar-athlete luncheon held for students finishing with a 3.0 or higher GPA and assists the Director of Athletics with day-to-day operations of the department. Snedden is the liaison to Human Resources and Faculty Affairs as well as serving on the Executive Council for the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) conference. He is a member of CSUSM's Clery Compliance Team. Before his current role, Snedden had served three years as Assistant Director of Athletics for Compliance, overseeing eligibility and admissions. Snedden started off his career as a mentor for student athletes in 1992 while he pursued a Master's Degree in Sports Administration from the University of New Mexico. He has been working with student-athletes ever since. He did his internship field work at Fresno State, got his first advising job at the University of New Mexico in 1993, then moved to San Diego in 1994 where he was later hired to start an academic support program at Grossmont College in El Cajon. In 1998, Snedden transferred to San Diego State where he worked for seven years before accepting a role at CSUSM. In 1988, Snedden earned his bachelor's degree in Psychology from Fresno State. Snedden has a wife, two children and two granddaughters, Hayley and Harper. He loves his commute (which is all of three miles to campus).

Torrey Olson

Torrey Olson was named the Head Men's and Women's Cross Country and Track & Field Coach the summer of 2018. He is the second cross country and track & field coach at CSUSM since the program began in 1999-2000. Olson came to CSUSM after spending the last three years as the Director of Track & Field and Cross Country at the Academy of Art University. Olson served as the head cross country coach the previous three years. In his first year as the head track & field coach, Olson's men's squad took fifth place at the CCAA Championships with four medals (two gold and two silver). The women's team took seventh with one gold-medal performance by Clarissa Garcia. Men and women combined, CSUSM earned five All-CCAA honors. while five men earned USTFCCCA All-West Region honors. Jax Heckers also qualified for the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships.

Tracy Daly

Tracy Daly began working with the Cal State San Marcos Department of Athletics in 2017-18. Daly provides nutrition education workshops for specific teams and supervises the nutrition and dietetic interns that provided 1-on-1 nutrition educational sessions with CSUSM student-athletes. She also hosts cooking classes for the CSUSM athletics teams throughout the year. Daly is a lecturer in the CSUSM Kinesiology department where she has taught since 2012. In addition, she serves as a lecturer in the Exercise & Nutrition Department at San Diego State. Prior to coming to CSUSM, she was the chair of the Nutrition Department at Wexford University from oct 2012 to April 2014. Daly received her Bachelor of Science in Dietetics in 1997 at Madonna University in Livonia, Mich. In 2003, she earned her Master of Science in Nutrition Education at the Chicago Medical School/Finih University of Health Sciences.

Tracy Thompson

Tracy Thompson was originally named Assistant Track & Field Coach in July 2015. He began his second stint with the program in July 2021. Thompson, a San Diego native and Morse High School graduate, works with all jump and multi athletes. Thompson joined Steve Scott's staff as a volunteer in 2015 and immediately had a positive impact on the jumpers. He helped eight student-athletes to personal lifetime bests, and guided Melissa Olmos to a new school record in the high jump and appearances in the Indoor and Outdoor NAIA National Championships.

Tyler Morrison

Tyler Morrison joined the Cal State San Marcos Department of Athletics as the new Assistant Sports Information Director on Sept. 4, 2018. Morrison is the primary sport contact for men's and women's soccer, men's basketball, men's and women's track & field and baseball.

Walt Fisher III

Walter Fisher III joined the Cal State San Marcos men's basketball team as an assistant coach in August 2023. Fisher, who everyone knows as "Coach Fish", spent the 2022-23 season at North Idaho College, where he was instrumental in helping the team have an undefeated regular season as well as the highest team GPA in the 2000s. Fisher was also heavily involved in recruiting and brought in two top freshmen to the squad with one being ranked in the ESPN Top 40. Fisher also helped all 6 sophomores garner four-year athletic scholarships in his lone season at the junior college ranks with NIC. In the grassroots community, Fisher co-founded Team RWA in 2015, and his program was regarded as one of the best independent programs in the country. Fisher and the Team RWA training program has helped 70 former players earn basketball scholarships while another five went on to play college football. Fisher has worked as a traveling coach for Nike combines and clinics and is well renowned on the camp and clinic circuit working with John Lucas, Pangos, NBAPA and advanced NBA player camps. Fisher is an experienced sports performance basketball trainer who has utilized his cutting edge program that has helped funnel seven different players onto national teams, including one gold medal USA member. There are currently five Team RWA alums who are playing professionally overseas or in the NBA G League. Fisher spent four seasons as assistant men's basketball coach at Governors State. Over the past three seasons Fisher has recruited over 35 athletes, including filling a junior varsity team in less than 2 weeks. His past three classes have been ranked nationally and had tremendous production for the Jaguars early into their careers. He also served as the No. 2 assistant on the bench. In 2019-20, Fisher assisted Coach Bates and Romeli with bench duties while also helping assemble the 2020-21 recruiting class, which included several D1 recruits that bolstered the class with a top-10 national ranking. Fisher is a native of Dolton, Illinois. He was a three-sport all-state athlete while in high school with offers in basketball, football, and track. Transferring back home after his father passed, he finished his career at Millikin University where he was a two-sport athlete in basketball and football. His basketball team advanced to conference and national tournaments during his junior and senior seasons. Fisher graduated Cum Laude with a dual bachelor's degree in marketing and management, and finance in 2009. Fisher went on to attend Thomas M. Cooley Law School, where he pursued a Juris Doctorate in contractual law.
