Since the day the Mississippi State University College of Veterinary Medicine opened its doors, we have made it our responsibility to provide a higher standard of living not just for animals and those involved with their care, but for all people. As technology and medicine advance, so does MSU CVM. We are committed to our goals and will continue to invest in Mississippi and the region, improving education, health and economic viability, as well as continue to do our part to make an important and lasting impact throughout the nation and the world... MSU CVM was established by the Mississippi Legislature in 1974. The physical plant in Starkville (Wise Center/main campus) was built in phases comprised of an educational/ instruction wing, the Animal Health Center and a research wing. The Warm Water Aquaculture Research and Diagnostic Laboratory in Stoneville and the Poultry Research and Diagnostic Laboratory in Pearl became part of the College in 1992 and 2000, respectively.
