Monica M. Dahlem

In practice since 1997, Dr. Dahlem is a board-certified medical and cosmetic dermatologist offering comprehensive dermatologic care. Her passion for dermatology ignited in medical school while she was doing a rotation in dermatology, researching Hansen's Disease (Leprosy) and treating patients in a clinical setting. "The skin is the body's largest organ, and underlying health issues often manifest in the skin," says Dr. Dahlem. "I was focused on a different path in medicine until I discovered, through my rotation, that dermatology offered the opportunity to help patients achieve good health by treating the visible problems on their skin and the underlying issues inside their bodies." Channeling good thoughts, good words and good deeds is inherent in Dr. Dahlem's daily practice. Patients value her attentiveness, strong listening skills, personal follow-through, whole-person approach to health and her thoughtfulness and honesty when discussing their care. Dr. Dahlem is an avid reader. When she's not reading medical literature, she enjoys reading mysteries and non-fiction. Exploring the world with her family and learning about various cultures and traditions is her favorite way to rejuvenate. She's an outdoors enthusiast, loves hiking and has trekked to the top of Mount Kilimanjaro. And, she's sun smart. When outdoors, she protects her skin with a hat, long sleeves and a broad spectrum sunscreen with a minimum SPF of 30.
