IAEM

In recent years, the Irish Association for Emergency Medicine has collaborated with international emergency medicine networks. Internationally, doctors working in emergency medicine have been at the forefront of humanitarian assistance to assist less well off communities in dealing with various crises. IAEM has been a focal point for Irish doctors working in Emergency Medicine to make a meaningful contribution to improve the lot of those involved in such environmental or other disasters. While the Association's remit is Ireland, IAEM plays an international role through membership of the European Society for Emergency Medicine and the International Federation for Emergency Medicine. The Irish Association for Emergency Medicine was founded in 1989 as the representative expert body for the medical specialty of Emergency Medicine.
