Dr. A. Kaneswaran had received B.Sc Eng Degree with first class honours from University of Peradeniya in 2008 and PhD from Queensland University of Technology (QUT) in 2015. From July 2008 till July 2011, he worked as an Engineer at Sri Lanka Telecom (PLC). He handled new service provisioning process and fault handling process configuration in Operations Support System (Clarity). He worked as a core team member for new CRM system implementation team at SLT. He involved in CRM system implementation, integrations of CRM system with OSS and CRM system with BSS. His PhD research was on "Robust Face Clustering for Real-World Data". His thesis has investigated how to cluster a large number of faces within a multi-media corpus in the presence of large session variation. Findings from his research contribute to improving the performance of both face verification systems and the fully automated clustering of faces from a large video corpus. He obtained most popular thesis (technical research) award from Smart Services Cooperative Research Centre (Smart Services CRC), Smart Services CRC Postgraduate Scholarship, QUT fee Waiver Scholarship (FEEWAIVE) and QUT Write-up Scholarship while pursuing his PhD degree. He obtained Mahapola Higher Education (Merit) Scholarship for the performance in Advanced Level Examination. He is a Member of the IEEE and Associate Member of the Institution of Engineers Sri Lanka (IESL).

Dr. D N Subramaniam obtained his BSc. Eng (Hons) from University of Moratuwa in 2008 and continued to read for his MSc. at University of Southampton, United Kingdom and graduated in 2009. Later, he obtained his Doctor of Philosophy from Queensland University of Technology, Australia in 2015, with a research focus on stormwater management system: stormwater biofilters. Currently, he is attached to Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, University of Jaffna.
His main stream of interest is on the field of water resources and environmental sustainability in civil engineering. He has undertaken a research study on the performance of stormwater biofilters under intermittent wetting and drying conditions. Earlier in his career, he has done research on wastewater treatment in a UASB reactor for his MSc. and another research on seasonal changes in coastal erosion along the south-eastern coast of Sri Lanka for his BSc. Eng.
He was awarded QUT Postgraduate Research Award (QUTPRA), Faculty of Built Environment and Engineering Top-Up Scholarship, QUT Higher Degree Tuition Award, towards his PhD career at QUT.

Dr. K. Pirapaharan has joined department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, University of Jaffna as Senior Lecturer moving from College of Engineering, IESL. He is appointed as the Dean, Faculty of Engineering, University of Jaffna from 23 rd June 2021. Prior to that he was a Professor of Electrical and Communications Engineering at the University of Technology, Papua New Guinea. He was also a Senior Lecturer at Taylor's University in Malaysia (2012-2013). His doctoral research was in microwave and millimetre waves from Kindai University, Japan. From 2001 to 2003, he was a postdoctoral research associate at Centre for Computational Electromagnetics, University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign, USA. From 2004 to 2011, he was a Senior Lecturer in the Electrical and Information Engineering Department at University of Ruhuna, Sri Lanka where he was the head of the department from 2005 to 2008. Dr. Pirapaharan's research interests include wave propagation in inhomogeneous media, adaptive antenna techniques and computational electromagnetics.
He is a Member of the IEEE and IET.

Dr Padmanathan Kathirgamanathan is a senior lecturer with a background in mathematics and engineering. He joined the Faculty in 2015. He is involved in numerical modelling of metal extrusion, pavement response model, chip seal surfacing, rock fall deformation models and seismic analysis of geo-technical problems. He has over 12 years of numerical modelling experience in the field of civil engineering, mechanical engineering and applied sciences and over 10 years of teaching experiences in mathematics. He hold PhDs in Mathematics and Engineering.

Prof. A. Atputharajah received BSc Eng Degree with first class honours from University of Peradeniya in 1997 and PhD from University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology (UMIST) in 2003. From 24 th June 2015 to 23 rd June 2021, he served as the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, University of Jaffna. From November 2013 till June 2015, he served the University of Jaffna at the capacity of Acting Dean of the Faculty of Engineering. In November 2013, he was permanently released from the University of Peradeniya to serve the University of Jaffna on establishing the Faculty of Engineering. From October 2010 till October 2013, he served as the Head of the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at University of Peradeniya. In his academic carrier: from November 2013 he was promoted as Professor in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, from 2010 he was promoted as Senior Lecturer Grade I, from 2004 he was promoted as Senior Lecturer grade II, from 1999 he was attached as lecturer. Before this: from 1998 he was selected to serve at the capacity of temporary lecturer to the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, University of Peradeniya. He also served in several capacities such as postgraduate program coordinator, research committees, senior student counsellor, chairman technical evaluation committees, president PHES Club, chairman IEEE PES SL Chapter, Treasurer IEEE SL Section, etc.
In his international research exposure, he was at the Universiti Tenaga Nasional (UNITEN) Malaysia during February/March 2013, working with power quality research group. Hedeveloped control techniques for converters used in grid connected solar plants, as an application to electric vehicle battery charging station. He was at University of Queensland Australia, on sabbatical leave from August 2009 till June 2010 to do research on "large scale power system blackouts". He carried out further research on control of power electronics of the wind turbine generators on HVDC interconnection at Joule centre University of Manchester in 2007. He was occupied with the European Micro Grid Project on "power electronic control applications on improving micro grid performance" at University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology (UMIST) in 2004 and 2002. He went to KEPCO Korea, for a training program on Power Engineering and Management in 2004 organised by the KOICA. He visited to international conferences held in Singapore and Canada to present his research outcomes. Further from 2003, he is working on energy saving, renewable energy projects with Sri Lankan industries and other organisations.
He obtained number of awards: Lastly he was awarded with the Outstanding Engineer Award of IEEE Power and Energy Society (PES) Sri Lanka Chapter 2014. This award was received during the Annual General Meeting of IEEE PES Sri Lanka Chapter held at the University of Moratuwa. His project group received the winner (best project) award at the National Energy Symposium 2013 at the BMICH Colombo. He got three times Presidential awards. Last two presidential awards were given to him in 2014 and 2010 for the publications made in the International Scientific indexed Journals. He was received the cash award in 2010 for the technical paper presented at the National Energy Symposium organised by the ministry of power and energy. He was elected at the grade of Senior Member of the Institution of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE), USA in 2009. He was nominated as primary delegate from Sri Lanka to the IEEE Sections Congress 2008 held in Canada. He was nominated as one of the two candidates from Sri Lanka for the KOICA training programme in 2004 held in Korea. Best paper presentation award was given to the paper at the Annual Research Session held at the University of Peradeniya in 1998. At his graduation in 1997, he obtained Professor R.H. Paul prize for the best performance in electrical power and machines at University of Peradeniya. He obtained merit scholarship award of the Mahapola Higher Education in 1992. He obtained first Presidential award for the performance in G.C.E. (A/L), award given at the ceremonial event held February 1992 at the Presidential Secretariat.

Prof. K. Ahilan joined the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, University of Jaffna, Sri Lanka in 2017 as a senior lecturer. He is also working as visiting researcher at Speech, Audio, Image and Video Technologies (SAIVT) lab, Queensland University of Technology, Australia. He is holding Australian and Sri Lankan Citizenships since 2016.
He received B.Sc Eng Degree with first class honours (3.80/4.00) from University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka in 2008 and PhD from Queensland University of Technology, Australia in 2014.
Ahilan worked as machine learning and speech processing researcher at SAIVT lab, Queensland University of Technology, Australia from Oct 2014 to July 2016. He also worked as visiting researcher at ATVS lab, Autonomous University of Madrid, Spain from Nov 2012 to Apr 2013. From September 2008 till July 2010, he worked as Business Development and Technical Support Engineer at Sri Lanka Telecom (PLC) Head Quarters, Colombo.
