Carlos Giraldo - VP

is an appointed Board member representing Procter & Gamble. Carlos is an International Business Leader with more than 25 years of experience and is currently P&G's Vice President of Global Development Markets. He hopes to contribute this corporate expertise to the Board of Trustees, especially regarding good governance practices and strategic planning, two areas which he considers fundamental to the success of the school. Given that P&G has been recognized as the #1 company in Leadership Development the world over, Carlos is confident he will be able to support the Board and the school to consolidate and bolster its position as a leader in education.

Chris Bergaust

is a career member of the Foreign Service since 2005 and currently works as the Management Counselor of the U.S. Embassy in Panama. In that capacity, he oversees all operational functions such as human resources, finance, information systems, contracting and procurement, medical services, staff morale, and building facilities. His previous overseas assignments include El Salvador, Morocco, Ecuador, Indonesia, and Pakistan where he most recently served as the Deputy Director of the International Narcotics and Law Enforcement section. In Washington, D.C. he served as a Staff Assistant in the Bureau of South and Central Asian Affairs. Prior to joining the Foreign Service, Mr. Bergaust managed a rock quarry near Park City, Utah, and attended graduate school at Brigham Young University, studying computational linguistics. He and his wife, Norma, are the parents of four. His foreign languages include fluent Spanish and French and working Indonesian. (Appointed, 2020-2023)

Eduardo Caruso

is an HR executive with more than 15 years of experience working in global organizations. Eduardo holds a Master's degree in Business Administration which accredited him to lead HR-related disciplines in highly reputed MBA programs in Brazil, prior to moving to Panama. He is also author or co-author of papers and articles published by Latin American journals and magazines. Eduardo hopes to support the Board's strategic view by bringing the team together to achieve common goals that will keep our school and community as a reference. (Elected, 2020-2023)

Gretel Ciniglio de Pérez

is a Senior Partner at FABREGA MOLINO with more than 20 years of experience focusing on Wealth Management, Wills, Estate and Succession Planning, and Family Business and Family Governance cases. She graduated with a Bachelor of Laws and Political Science from Universidad de Panamá and subsequently obtained an LLM-DESS in Business Law from the University of Geneva and the University of Lausanne, Switzerland. She leads FABREGA MOLINO FOUNDATION and her firm's corporate social responsibility program, community service, and pro bono programs. In addition, she is a Founding Member and Member of the Board of Directors of FUNDACION WIP PANAMA. Gretel's main objective as an ISP Board member is to contribute her skills and expertise, both as a lawyer and as a mother, in implementing the school's corporate governance strategy, ensuring that it is consistent with its diversity and inclusion principles. Heather Watson

Is a career member of the Foreign Service since 2005 and is the Deputy Consular Chief at the U.S. Embassy in Panama. Ms. Watson recently served as an Economic Officer in Berlin, Germany after doing a year exchange at the German Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Other overseas tours include in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates; Lilongwe, Malawi; Yaoundé, Cameroon; and Havana, Cuba. Ms. Watson holds a graduate degree from the University of Washington and was a Peace Corps volunteer in Guatemala. Her two children attend ISP. She speaks Spanish, German, and has learned Farsi and French (Appointed October 2021-May 2021).

Mariela Paredes

is a proud mother of 2 boys and ISP Alumna Class of 2002. Having spent a great part of her life at ISP's La Cresta and Cerro Viento Campus, Mariela grew together with the school. Recognizing that growth and how important it has been in her personal and professional life, she now feels that it is her duty to give something back to the school that gave her so much. A Georgetown University graduate, Mariela holds a degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Leadership and Change, as well as a MBA from the University of Louisville. She believes that her education and experience in business, banking and marketing, as well as various community boards, will allow her to positively contribute to building a strategy together with other board members and school administrators that will ensure ISP maintains its position as leader in education in Panama. Mariela hopes to follow her family's tradition at ISP, so that one day her grandchildren may also enjoy the ISP experience. (Elected, 2021-2024)

Patrick Kelly

is a business leader with various interests including acting as Chairman & CEO for a renewable energy company in Panama which he co-founded. Prior to moving to Panama, he was a Managing Director in the Investment Banking department of Morgan Stanley based in London and New York. He has worked in five countries across a range of sectors. He graduated from Otago University in his native New Zealand with a Bachelor of Commerce with First Class Honors. He is a volunteer teacher at a private foundation for teenage students and participates in a wide range of sports. Patrick has three children in ISP and is committed to ensuring that the school delivers a world-class education to all its students. (Elected, 2020-2023)

Rafael Quinn - Treasurer

Is a Panamanian businessman and Co-Founder of Alternative Holdings. Aside from his private business interests, Rafael has also served on the board of the Asociación Nacional para la Conservación de la Naturaleza (ANCON) since 2010. Rafael looks forward to using his finance background in assisting the Board to achieve its mission of guaranteeing the long-term viability of ISP as the leading education environment in Panama. He has no doubt that working together, the Board, faculty, and parent community can maintain this amazing tradition. (Appointed, 2021-2024)

Yasser Williams

  • Real Estate Developer
Is a lawyer and real estate developer with more than 10 years of experience in his field. He graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Laws and Political Science from the Universidad Catolica Santa Maria La Antigua and is currently a partner at the firms Williams & Williams, Urbania Developer, S.A. and Urbania Developer Levante. He also serves as a board member or advisor to multiple non-profit organizations and is the Chairman of the IFF Panama Foundation, which organizes the annual International Film Festival of Panama. Yasser's experience as a lawyer, entrepreneur, and advisor has given him the opportunity to provide legal advice to both local and international organizations and solve complex issues that relate to non-profit organizations. Yasser believes that regardless of our background or nationality, we all want what is best for our children, including an outstanding education. As such, his main objective as an ISP Board member is to contribute his skills and expertise in helping the school continue to grow in a sustainable way. (Elected, 2019-2022)
