Albert H. Segars - Chairman

With expertise in the areas of innovation and technology management, Al Segars brings the perspective of strategic change to the challenges of adopting and using new technology and business processes. He has applied this expertise to new products, business models and supply chains for many of the most innovative organizations throughout the world. His research interests include technology management, new media, strategic planning for new technology, design for sustainability and financial and operational metrics of new technology. He also examines how firms create effective innovation, invention and proof-of-concept processes for the design of products and services. Dr. Segars is the author of "Ideas and Innovative Organizations" (Peter Lang International, 2020). He describes a tribal approach to innovation found in organizations, projects and historical initiatives that is driven by groups of people that have an ambitious mandate, positive values or codes of conduct, well-defined roles, robust flows of knowledge, the ability to endure hardship, an analytical focus, and a willingness to sacrifice. Together, these attributes signal a favorable predisposition to discover breakthrough ideas and navigate difficult projects. Dr. Segars is the chairperson of the board and faculty lead of the NC Policy Collabratory (NCPC), which the North Carolina General Assembly established in 2016 to utilize and disseminate the research expertise across the University of North Carolina System for practical use by state and local government. In May 2020, the NCPC was awarded $29 million from the state of North Carolina for COVID-19 research. Since its inception, the NCPC has managed more than $60 million in research projects. Dr. Segars served as faculty director of the Center for Sustainable Enterprise at UNC Kenan-Flagler from 2004-2018. He is an active consultant Apple, Disney, Pixar, The Children's Television Workshop (Sesame Workshop), The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), Red Hat and IBM. He also serves as a speaker and expert for state and federal governments on technology, innovation and project management. He received his PhD from the University of South Carolina in technology management with minors in international finance and corporate strategy, his MBA from UNC-Chapel Hill and his BS from UNC-Charlotte.

Allen Chan

Allen Chan brings more than 30 years of leadership experience to the Kenan Institute Board of Advisors. He is currently Managing Director at Diversified Search Group (DSG) working primarily in the Board practice. Allen joined DSG after serving as the executive director of the Robertson Scholars Leadership Program (2012-2020). Under Allen's leadership, the program became one of the country's preeminent undergraduate leadership programs. He has worked in a range of entrepreneurial, educational, corporate, and consulting organizations including Booz, Allen & Hamilton, where he conducted and led studies for large corporations in strategy, operations, and business process re-design. In addition to his work in the Board practice, Allen provides leadership advisory services - such as Diversity/Equity/Inclusion Assessment and Strategy, CEO/Board Alignment, and Board Effectiveness and Governance. Allen is very committed and involved in the community. He currently serves on the National Advisory Board of the Salvation Army, Morehouse College and Atlanta Life Insurance Company. He has previously served on the boards of several other Atlanta-based organizations, including the Children's Healthcare of Atlanta Foundation, Families First and Imagine It! Aly Miller

Alyse Polly

Alyse is passionate about promoting equitable economic development and creating job opportunities for all members of the community. As the leader of AICER at NCGrowth, she works with universities, governments, procurement officials and other stakeholders to facilitate intentional purchasing practices from local businesses, particularly those owned by historically marginalized populations. Before joining NCGrowth, Alyse worked as a research instructor in Carolina's Public Policy Department, and at the state's Division of Public Health on projects aimed at increasing access to healthy living opportunities. Alyse is also an active member of her community in Hillsborough, volunteering on the Planning and Parks & Recreation boards. In her free time, she enjoys spending as much time as she can out in nature with her family.

Amit Singh

Amit Singh co-founded Spectraforce Technologies Inc in 2004. Spectraforce is a global IT consulting, workforce solutions and IT outsourcing services firm with CHQ in Raleigh, North Carolina and 11 offices/development centers across United States, India and Jamaica. Singh serves as the president and CEO of Spectraforce. He moved from India to United States in 1997 with a large global IT services firm, Syntel Inc. While at Syntel, Singh served as a delivery/solutions manager and was involved in consulting, structuring and management of IT deals and projects in an integrated onsite-offshore delivery model that created exceptional value for large Fortune 1000 clientele. Singh received the Outstanding Young Alumni Award from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill's Kenan-Flagler Business School, has been inducted into Beta Gamma Sigma and has been named to the Triangle Business Journal's "40 Under 40" list. While at the helm of Spectraforce, the company was named to the Triangle Business Journal's "Fast 50" every year from 2008 to 2015 and to "Inc. 5000" from 2009 to 2015. In 2009 and 2010, Spectraforce made the "Div 500" as a top diversity company in the U.S. The company earned a "Supplier of the Year Category III" distinction in 2009 from the Carolinas Minority Supplier Development Councils and was a "National Supplier of the Year Finalist" in 2010 for the National Minority Supplier Development Council. Anusha Chari

Anusha Chari is a Professor of Economics and Finance at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She is a Research Associate in the National Bureau of Economic Research's International Finance and Macroeconomics Program. She received a PhD in International Finance from UCLA and a BA in Philosophy, Politics and Economics at Balliol College at Oxford and Economics at the University of Delhi. She has held faculty positions at the University of Chicago's Booth School of Business, the University of Michigan, and The Haas School of Business at Berkeley. She was a research associate at the Swiss Institute of Banking and Finance at St. Gallen, Switzerland and a summer intern at the International Monetary Fund. Professor Chari was a special advisor to the Indian Prime Minister's Economic Advisory Council and member of an Advisory Group of Eminent Persons on G20 Issues. Her research is in the fields of open-economy macroeconomics and international finance.

Ashley Wolf

Ashley oversees the logistics of institute-sponsored, faculty-led research projects on entrepreneurship, economic development and global commerce. She consults on a variety of research tasks, including secondary research, literature searches, survey methodology support and database assistance. She also serves as research director for the Kenan Scholars program, providing instruction on best practices in business research. Ashley holds master's degrees in library science and public administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and a bachelor's degree in journalism and history from Indiana University.

Barry Schochet

Barry Schochet serves as the managing partner and senior counsel of Volt Energy, one of the world's largest minority-owned solar energy development firms based in Washington D.C. As managing partner, Schochet oversees business development and strategy for the company. Schochet is also a distinguished attorney. His career has included private law practice and service in the U.S. Senate, where he was counsel to the Senate Watergate Committee and staff director for the Senate Foreign Relations Subcommittee on Near Eastern and South Asian Affairs. As a business developer, Schochet has crafted significant projects in both the U.S. and international markets. These projects have spanned a variety of industries including food service, real estate, restaurant, financial and solar. He was also an early limited partner of The Cheesecake Factory, playing an integral part in the company's early expansion nationwide and initial public offering. Schochet also serves on the Chancellor's Associates Council at University of California, San Diego. He earned his bachelor's degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and his J.D. from Emory University.

Betsy L. Battle

Ms. Battle brings almost four decades of financial services and investment experience to Lone Peak Partners. Most recently, she was Director of Manager Selection and a member of the Management Committee at Soros Fund Management LLC. Over her eight years there, she not only managed multibillion dollar portfolios of external hedge funds for the Quantum group of funds and George Soros, but also built the manager selection and due diligence processes as well as the multi-manager portfolio construction and monitoring methodologies. Prior to Soros Fund Management, she held positions at Bankers Trust, Citicorp and JP Morgan, primarily as a manager in Global Sales and Trading. She currently serves on the Board of Directors of the University of North Carolina Kenan-Flagler Business School Foundation Board, the Board of Directors of the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, and the President's Council of the Peconic Land Trust. Ms. Battle received a BA from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1976. Ms. Battle founded Lone Peak Partners Management LP in July of 2009. The firm registered with the SEC in February 2012. Lone Peak is also registered with the CFTC as a CPO and a CTA and became a member of the NFA in January 2013.

Camelia Kuhnen

Camelia Kuhnen is an expert in household finance, labor and finance, and neuroeconomics. Her work has an interdisciplinary nature, with the overarching theme of trying to understand how people make financial and economic choices that concern them as individuals or as decision makers in firms. She serves as department editor at Management Science and associate editor at the Journal of Finance. Previously she was an editor at the Review of Corporate Finance Studies and associate editor at the Review of Financial Studies. Dr. Kuhnen is the incoming president of the Society for Experimental Finance, has served as president of the Society for Neuroeconomics, and is a director of the American Finance Association. She is a faculty affiliate at the National Bureau of Economic Research and also serves as director of research at the Kenan Institute of Private Enterprise at UNC-Chapel Hill. Prior to joining the faculty at UNC Kenan-Flagler, Dr. Kuhnen served on the faculty of the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. She received her Ph.D. in finance from the Stanford Graduate School of Business and two bachelor's degrees - in finance and neuroscience - from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Carlin Rosengarten

A passionate advocate for equitable growth, sustainable development, and environmental justice, he has developed content for many nonprofit and intergovernmental organizations, including the UN Environment Programme and UN Secretary General's office, as well as for analytics startups, academic researchers, and scientists. Carlin continually seeks new ways of communicating science that promotes economic, human, and environmental health. Born in Charleston, South Carolina, Carlin earned his bachelor's degree in biology and studio art at Dartmouth College and his master's in environmental management from Yale's School of Forestry and Environment Studies (now Yale School of the Environment), where he completed two teaching fellowships under Nobel economist Dr. William Nordhaus. Employing a collaborative, multidisciplinary approach to his work, Carlin crafts narratives that bridge the gap between academic specialists and the general public with the aim to inform policy and advance knowledge.

Carolyn Fryberger

Chelsea Donahue

He is an award-winning researcher and teacher, and received the 2015 Award for Excellence in MBA Teaching at UNC's Kenan-Flagler Business School. Chris' industry experience includes work with McKinsey & Company, Deloitte Consulting and Price Waterhouse, as well as consulting work with numerous organizations, including 3M, FedEx, and the U.S. Army. Chris received his doctorate in strategy, organizations and entrepreneurship from Stanford University. He received a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and a master's degree from Brigham Young University, where he graduated cum laude.

Christian Lundblad

Christian serves as the senior associate dean for faculty and research at UNC's Kenan-Flagler Business School. His research spans asset pricing and international finance, with a specialization in emerging market development, and has been published in top academic journals such as the Journal of Finance, Review of Financial Studies and the Journal of Financial Economics. Christian served as a financial economist for the Federal Reserve Board, and is the recipient of the MBA for Executives Teaching Excellence award. Dr. Lundblad previously served as area chair of finance, associate dean of the PhD Program, director of research at the Frank Hawkins Kenan Institute of Private Enterprise and director of the Center for Excellence in Investment Management. He holds a courtesy appointment as a special-term professor at the People's Bank of China School of Finance at Tsinghua University in Beijing. Christian received a doctorate in financial economics and a master's degree in economics from Duke University. He graduated summa cum laude from Washington University with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and English Literature.

Christina Theodorou

A graduate of UNC-Pembroke, Christina has 15 years' experience working in small business development statewide supporting small business owners growing their capacities to bid work. Christina also worked in tribal affairs on state, university and federal levels assisting tribal leaders in building tribal assets and economies. She believes healthy, well and working small business owners and tribal members are the greatest assets North Carolina possesses. Christine Moorman

Christine Moorman is the T. Austin Finch, Sr. Professor of Business Administration at the Fuqua School of Business, Duke University. Her research examines the nature and effects of learning and knowledge utilization about marketing by consumers, managers, organizations, and financial markets. Professor Moorman's research has been published in a range of top journals, including the Journal of Marketing, Journal of Marketing Research, Marketing Science, Journal of Consumer Research, Academy of Management Review, Academy of Management Journal, and Administrative Science Quarterly and has been supported by grants from the National Science Foundation and the Marketing Science Institute. Professor Moorman served as the Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Marketing from 2018-2022. She was named the 2018 AMA-Irwin-McGraw-Hill Distinguished Marketing Educator, the 2022 AMA Foundation William L. Wilkie "Marketing for a Better World" Award, the 2022 Gil Churchill Award for Lifetime Contributions to Marketing Research, an AMA Fellow in 2017, the 2012 Paul D. Converse award for significant contributions to marketing, and the 2008 Mahajan Award for career contributions to the field of marketing strategy. At Duke, Professor Moorman was awarded the 2006 Bank of America award, the highest honor a Fuqua faculty can receive from professor peers. Professor Moorman is the founder and managing director of The CMO Survey where she collects and disseminates the opinions of marketing leaders in order to predict the future of markets, track marketing excellence, and improve the value of marketing in organizations and in society. She blogs about survey findings at Forbes, Harvard Business Review, Marketing News, and The CMO Survey. Professor Moorman is author of the book, Strategy from the Outside In: Profiting from Customer Value with George S. Day (which was awarded the 2011 Berry Book prize for the best book in the field of marketing) and Strategic Market Management with David A. Aaker. Professor Moorman has served as an Academic Trustee for the Marketing Science Institute, as a member of the Board of Directors of the American Marketing Association, Chair of the Marketing Strategy Special Interest Group for the AMA, and as Director of Public Policy for the Association for Consumer Research. She has served as area chair, Chair of Dean's Search Committee, and on the University's Academic Priorities Committee at Duke. Professor Moorman's teaching focuses on marketing strategy with an emphasis on building the organization and capabilities for customer focus. She has taught this class to undergraduate, MBA, and Executive MBA classes and has received numerous teaching awards, including the 2016 Best Elective Teaching Award from the Fuqua School of Business. In 2020, she co-developed a new core class for Fuqua focused on the "Entrepreneurial Mindset" with Manuel Adelino. In all her teaching, she is passionate about helping companies more effectively form strong relationships with customers and views this connection as the key to both firm profitability and the free market system. A former Junior Achiever, Professor Moorman strives to inspire managers to innovate and manage their companies with the passion of entrepreneurs.

Christy Shaffer - CEO, President

Christy Shaffer is a venture partner and managing director of Hatteras Discovery, a seasoned entrepreneur and biotech executive and has more than 20 years of experience in the life science industry. Following her career as a clinical scientist, international project leader and associate director of pulmonary and critical care medicine at Burroughs Wellcome Co., Dr. Shaffer joined Inspire Pharmaceuticals as the first, full-time employee. She was responsible for raising over $300m for the company, including taking the company public in 2000. As president and CEO, Dr. Shaffer grew the company from 20 scientists to nearly 250 employees with current revenues of over $100 million. Under her leadership, Inspire was named as "Best Place to Work for Scientists" by The Scientist Magazine and "Best Place to Work in North Carolina." She retired from Inspire in March 2010 and has recently played an integral role in the Chancellor's Innovation Circle to enhance entrepreneurship and innovation across the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill's campus. She has served on numerous boards including the Council for Entrepreneurial Development, the NC Biotechnology Center, NC BIO, the Biotechnology Institute, BIO and PhRMA. She currently serves on the board of trustees for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and is a corporate board member for EvoApp and Clinipace, two rapidly-growing companies in Research Triangle Park. Dr. Shaffer is also the chair of the Foundation Board for the NC School of Science and Mathematics. She was a recent recipient of the Hamner Lifetime Leadership Award at the NC BIOTECH meeting. Dr. Shaffer is a receptor pharmacologist by training, earning her bachelor's and Ph.D. in Pharmacology from the University of Tennessee.

Chuck Lovelace

Though Chuck first joined the Foundation staff in 1984, initially serving as treasurer and assistant director, his history with Morehead-Cain goes back more than a decade earlier. He first came to Chapel Hill in 1973 as a Morehead-Cain Scholar, earning his bachelor of arts in economics in 1977. He went on to earn his master's in business administration at UNC-Chapel Hill two years later. Chuck served as executive director of the Foundation since 1987. Like all Morehead-Cains, he has many interests. He currently serves as a trustee of the Association of Boarding Schools (TABS) and is a former board member of Episcopal High School in Alexandria, Virginia; Summerbridge National (now Breakthrough Collaborative) in San Francisco; and McCue Corporation in Peabody, Massachusetts. An avid golfer, Chuck also tries to time his business travel so that he can visit local art galleries. He's especially partial to a good watercolor.

Cody Morris

Cody provides research support on academic and translational research projects in collaboration with UNC Kenan-Flagler Faculty, the institute's chief economist and staff. Before joining the institute, he was an intern at the OECD in the Productivity, Innovation and Entrepreneurship Division performing data analytics and researching the demand for artificial intelligence-related skills in European labor markets. Cody is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in economics at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, and holds a master's degree in applied economics and bachelor's degree in economics from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.

Daniel Drake

Dan Drake is the president of the William R. Kenan, Jr. Funds, and chairman of the William R. Kenan, Jr. Fund for Engineering, Technology and Science. From 1967-1998, Dan served as managing director of J.P. Morgan & Co. and continued to consult with the firm until 1999. Dan also served as managing member and chief operating officer of Middlebury Capital Partners LLC from 1999-2001. From 2003-2009, he was the associate publisher of the Nantucket Independent LLC. Dan is currently involved on the boards of a number of nonprofit organizations, including the Linda Loring Nature Foundation and the Nantucket Shellfish Association, serving as president for both organizations. Dan received a bachelor's degree in history from the University of Rochester in 1964 and his J.D. from the Albany Law School of Union University in 1967. Dan was admitted to the New York Bar in 1967. He and his wife Judith reside in Nantucket, Massachusetts.

Darlene Deberry

Before the move to KIPE, Darlene worked with the Carolina Small Business Development Fund, a local community development financial institution to provide technical assistance and access to capital to minority and women-owned businesses across the state. She recently completed a Doctor of Business Administration degree from UNC Charlotte's Belk School of Business where she researched entrepreneurship and digital marketing capabilities in female firms. Darlene resides in Durham and is married to Kenan Executive MBA Alumni David Deberry. They have two adult children and enjoy traveling the world. David A. Hofmann

David Carroll

David Carroll has over 42 years of institutional experience as a financial services executive with expertise in wealth and asset management as well as retail and commercial banking with Wells Fargo and predecessors Wachovia and First Union. In 2017, after 38 years Mr. Carroll retired from Wells Fargo as Senior Executive Vice President and Head of Wealth and Investment Management. The Wealth and Investment Management Group consisted of Wells Fargo Advisors ( Wells's retail broker dealer), Wells Fargo Asset Management, Wells Fargo Retirement Services, Wells Fargo Private Bank/Wealth Management, Abbot Downing, the ultra high net worth business, and the Wells Fargo Investment Institute. The group accounted for over $16 BN in annual revenue, $2.5 BN in after tax earnings, over $2TR in assets under management, and approximately 16,000 employees. Since retiring from Wells Fargo Mr. Carroll has been active in managing his family's private equity and venture capital portfolio, focused on healthcare, and technology. Mr. Carroll began his career at First Union Bank, where he grew up on the commercial and retail banking side, and ultimately became CEO of the bank's Georgia and Florida businesses. In addition to being involved in over 30 mergers and acquisitions over his career he had senior leadership roles in Technology, Mortgage Banking, Corporate Real Estate, Enterprise Information Management, Marketing, Card Services, and E Commerce. He co-led merger integration in the merger integration between Wachovia and First Union and in 2001, he became President of Wachovia's Capital Management Group - the asset management, brokerage, retirement services and reinsurance businesses. Howard Nathaniel Lee, born July 28, 1934, grew up on a sharecropper's farm in Lithonia, Georgia. He graduated from Bruce High School in 1953. He attended Fort Valley State College in Georgia where he received a BA degree in Sociology in 1959. In August 1959, he was drafted and served two years in the United States Army; spending more than one year in Korea. After being honorably discharged from active duty in 1961, he worked three years as a Juvenile Probation Officer in Savannah, Georgia. In 1964, he enrolled in the graduate School of Social Work at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, North Carolina and received his Master's Degree in 1966. In 1969, Lee was elected and served three terms (1975) as Mayor of Chapel Hill. In 1976, he was a candidate for Lieutenant Governor, but lost in a bitter and contentious second primary run-off election. In 1977- 1981, he served as Secretary of the Department of Natural Resources and Community Development, a cabinet-level position in the Governor Jim Hunt Administration. Among his numerous achievements, he initiated a "Mountains to the Sea Hiking Trail," which stretches from the North Carolina Mountains to the coast. 1966-1975, Lee served as an administrator at Duke University and on the faculty at North Carolina Central University. 1982-1991, he was a member of the School of Social Work faculty at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He has lectured at numerous universities throughout the South and Nation. Lee has contributed chapters to several books and has published articles in many professional, academic, and business publications. Lee has recently released several inspirational writings, entitled: "I Am A Teacher," "Twelve Strategies for Leaders," A Teacher's Call, A Call to Public Service and "The Black Man's Journey." In 2008, he released his biographical memoir, entitled: "The Courage to Lead, One Man's Journey in Public Service." In his memoir, Lee shares his life story and shares insight about how he survived the oppressive Jim Crow South, overcame obstacles, and broke racial barriers as he rose to a position of political prominence and power. In 1990, Lee was elected to the North Carolina Senate where he served for 13 years. During his tenure, he held several powerful committee chairmanships; presiding over education, transportation and Appropriations Committees. In the North Carolina Senate, Lee built his reputation as a fighter for education reform. He fought for higher teacher salaries, increased funding for public and higher education and advocated for raising teacher and student standards. In addition, he sponsored or co-sponsored several major pieces of educational legislation, which included Smart Start, More at Four (a pre-kindergarten program), the Excellent Schools Act for school reform, and the Safe Schools Act. In 2003-2009, Lee was elected to the position as Chairman of the North Carolina State Board of Education and a member of the North Carolina Utilities Commission. As a successful entrepreneur, Howard Lee founded and operated several successful business enterprises. From March 2009- September 2011, Lee served as the first Executive Director of the North Carolina Education Cabinet having been appointed by Governor Beverly Eaves Perdue.

His group was the first to bring commercial mortgage backed securities (CMBS) to market. He also worked as a research associate for The Urban Institute and as a financial economist for the U.S. Office of the Comptroller of Currency. He served as president of the leading academic real estate group, The American Real Estate and Urban Economics Association (AREUEA), in 2000. Dr. Hartzell serves on the board of directors of Highwoods Properties, a publicly traded real estate investment trust (REIT) that focuses its investment and development in the office sector in southeastern markets in the United States. He serves on the investment committee and the audit committee of the board. He has worked with numerous companies on a consulting basis, notably Heitman Capital Management in Chicago, with whom he has been affiliated since 1994. Additional consulting engagements have included the board of directors of Citigroup, CB Richard Ellis, Weil Gottschall, Cornerstone Research, Henderson Asset Management (U.K.), PRA Securities, Heitman/JMB Advisory Corp., JMB Institutional Realty Corp., Salomon Brothers Inc., Prudential Real Estate Investors, American Council of Life Insurance, Travelers Realty Investment Corporation, GE Capital, Metropolitan Life and ABP (Dutch Public Employees Pension Fund). Dr. Hartzell served in many administrative roles since joining the faculty. He was the associate dean for MBA Programs, with administrative responsibility for the full-time MBA Program and all Executive MBA Programs from 1994-1998. For most of his years at UNC Kenan-Flagler, he served as director of the Real Estate Program and coordinator of the Real Estate Concentration in MBA Program. He received his PhD from UNC-Chapel Hill and his MA and BS from the University of Delaware.

Christine Moorman is the T. Austin Finch, Sr. Professor of Business Administration at the Fuqua School of Business, Duke University. Her research examines the nature and effects of learning and knowledge utilization about marketing by consumers, managers, organizations, and financial markets. Professor Moorman's research has been published in a range of top journals, including the Journal of Marketing, Journal of Marketing Research, Marketing Science, Journal of Consumer Research, Academy of Management Review, Academy of Management Journal, and Administrative Science Quarterly and has been supported by grants from the National Science Foundation and the Marketing Science Institute. Professor Moorman served as the Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Marketing from 2018-2022. She was named the 2018 AMA-Irwin-McGraw-Hill Distinguished Marketing Educator, the 2022 AMA Foundation William L. Wilkie "Marketing for a Better World" Award, the 2022 Gil Churchill Award for Lifetime Contributions to Marketing Research, an AMA Fellow in 2017, the 2012 Paul D. Converse award for significant contributions to marketing, and the 2008 Mahajan Award for career contributions to the field of marketing strategy. At Duke, Professor Moorman was awarded the 2006 Bank of America award, the highest honor a Fuqua faculty can receive from professor peers. Professor Moorman is the founder and managing director of The CMO Survey where she collects and disseminates the opinions of marketing leaders in order to predict the future of markets, track marketing excellence, and improve the value of marketing in organizations and in society. She blogs about survey findings at Forbes, Harvard Business Review, Marketing News, and The CMO Survey. Professor Moorman is author of the book, Strategy from the Outside In: Profiting from Customer Value with George S. Day (which was awarded the 2011 Berry Book prize for the best book in the field of marketing) and Strategic Market Management with David A. Professor Moorman has served as an Academic Trustee for the Marketing Science Institute, as a member of the Board of Directors of the American Marketing Association, Chair of the Marketing Strategy Special Interest Group for the AMA, and as Director of Public Policy for the Association for Consumer Research.
