Our program is one of only 8% in the nation accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), and maintains a 5-star NC license with 15 of 15 bonus points awarded for program standards, teacher education, and reduced ratios... Children thrive in small groups. Our program serves 33 children: 8 toddlers, 8-10 middlers, and 15-17 preschoolers, each with two teachers. Children stay in the same classrooms with the same teachers and peer groups from September through August then the children move as a group to the next classroom... Lakewood Avenue Children's School is a NAEYC accredited preschool in Durham, NC welcoming students age 1-5. Child-centered education with small class size.
