Our school is situated in Killeen on the west coast of Ireland. We are located seven kilometres west of the village of Louisburgh in the parish of Kilgeever, approximately twenty eight kilometres from Westport. The current school building opened in 1975 as a result of an amalgamation of Carrowniskey, Killadoon and Thallabawn national schools. The school is in a beautiful setting with breathtaking views of the surrounding Mweelrea Mountains, Croagh Patrick and the Atlantic Ocean incorporating the islands of Clare Island, Mweelán, Inisturk and on a clear day, Inishbofin... We are a primary school with a Catholic ethos, under the patronage of the Diocese of Tuam, and we also welcome children of all faiths.
