NIEUWPOORT

In the green heart of Holland, on the north-side of the Alblasserwaard lies the settlement town Nieuwpoort, along the river the Lek. Nieuwpoort is the smallest and most perfect settlement town of Holland. Old fronts of the houses are dreamy reflected in the water of Buiten- and Binnenhaven. The sounds of the carillon in the tower of the town hall (1697) emphasize the rich cultural history. After a walking tour over the walls and through the city, it is nice to have a rest on one of the many seats in the town or at the terrace of one of the cafées.
