Tim Moran watched his premature daughter suffer due to medical devices that were not designed for such sensitive patients. Motivated by this unfortunate experience he formed PediaWorks, a 501.c.3 non-profit. Its mission is to develop pediatric-specific devices based on clinical need rather than financial return. As an initial project, PediaWorks enlisted the help of the pediatric cardiology community to identify unmet needs and product specifications. PediaWorks then formed the social venture, PediaVascular, to manage product development and marketing. In 2013, it launched the only line of pediatric-specific angiography catheters, sheaths and guidewires.
