Adam recently joined TOBIN's Building & Infrastructure division as a Design Structural Engineer. He received his bachelor's degree from the Budapest University of Technology and his master's degree in Structural Engineering from the University of Pecs in Hungary. Adam has experience working on various office and residential projects, particularly in structural design, and in-situ and precast reinforced concrete. In his free time, Adam enjoys travelling, sports and watching movies.

Alan continuously works to achieve value for the Client, from concept to detailed design stage, to selecting the most suitable contractor at tender stage, throughout construction and on to final account stage.

Allison Murphy

Allison is an Environmental Consultant with over fifteen years' experience, mainly in the areas of environmental management and assessment. She joined TOBIN in 2006, having previously worked in environmental consultancies in Northern Ireland and Australia. Her experience covers a range of technical areas including project management and co-ordination, preparation of Environmental Impact Assessments, Planning Compliance Reports and Appropriate Assessments. Allison also has vast experience in the role of Environmental Clerk of Works . Her experience to date covers projects in various sectors including the energy, flood management, waste management, extractive industries, residential and mixed-use developments.

Amanda Connors

Amanda is a Senior Structural Engineer with over 10 years of consultancy experience working on a variety of projects. She has experience with industrial, commercial, residential, and mixed-use developments. Amanda has managed projects from feasibility/concept design through to final completion After graduating from Dublin Institute of Technology in 2007 with an honours degree in Engineering, Amanda joined TOBIN before leaving to work and travel in Canada where she gained her Professional designation. Her experience includes the design of structures subject to seismic loads. She re-joined TOBIN after returning from Canada and has been working as part of the Building and Infrastructure division in the Dublin office. Outside of work, Amanda enjoys spending time with her young family and going hiking with friends.

Andrew Jensen

Andrew graduated from Cape Peninsula University of Technology in 2010 and worked in the civil and structural engineering industry in South Africa before relocating to Ireland. He joined the Building & Infrastructure team at TOBIN in February 2022, shortly after his relocation. He has worked on a variety of projects incorporating reinforced concrete, masonry and steel structures in the residential and commercial sectors. Brendan Heaney

Brendan joined TOBIN in 1994, having obtained an honours degree in Civil Engineering at Queens University, Belfast. Brendan is a Chartered Engineer and has over 27 years post qualification experience in the construction industry. He currently holds the position of Technical Director in the Building and Infrastructure division within Tobin Consulting Engineers. He has extensive experience in project management, procurement, design and construction of numerous commercial, industrial, residential, retail and sports projects, from conception through to completion. He has brought these specialist skills and techniques to a wide variety of projects in the Private and Public Residential and Commercial sectors, including the Galway Harbour Deep Water Project and the National and Connacht GAA Centre of Excellence. A keen follower of all sports, and in particular hurling and football, Brendan trains underage football teams in his local football club and also enjoys walking and cycling.

Brendan Moloney Flood

Brendan holds the position of Flood Management Lead within TOBIN's Civil I Design Build I Water (CDBW) Division. Some of the more notable projects he has worked on in recent times includes a number of civil assignments at Dublin Airport for the daa as well as multiple ‘water specific' assignments on Irish Water's ‘Water Supply Project' for the Eastern and Midlands Region. In his current role, Brendan and his team are responsible for the planning, design and project management of a variety of projects across the country. When not working, Brendan likes to keep up to date with all things GAA related and plays the odd bit of golf when the opportunity presents itself. Brendan Rudden

Brendan joined TOBIN in 2003 having previously worked for Roscommon County Council and with TOBIN as a student. Brendan is a specialist in project development and has worked on a large number of civil engineering and infrastructure projects including housing, warehousing, commercial, sports facilities and waste management. He has worked on planning applications, fire safety certificates, waste permits, and civil engineering contract documents bringing projects from feasibility through to completion of construction. Significant project examples are Connacht GAA, East Galway Landfill and Galway Harbour Extension (GHE). TOBIN are lead consultants for the GHE project and Brendan was the co-ordinator of the contributors for the EIS, planning application and for the Oral Hearing for this project. This involved consultations with the stakeholders and statutory bodies in the process. GHE is a Strategic Infrastructure Development (SID) project lodged directly to An Bord Pleanala and is likely to use the IROPI route under Article 6(4) of the European Habitats Directive. Brendan has presented and lectured in relation to this project. Brendan is currently the Safety Representative for the B&I division in the Galway Office and part of the Sustainability Team at TOBIN. Brendan has always been a sports enthusiast and has played football at all levels for his native Ballyhaunis and is a keen Mayo football supporter. More recently, he has become involved with his local Oranmore-Maree Club.

Brian Carroll

Brian joined TOBIN in 2002. He has extensive experience in the Project Management and Design of all aspects of numerous Civil, Commercial, Residential and Industrial Buildings from conception through to completion, including liaising with clients and other design team members. Brian's Design experience includes Civil Design, Fire Safety Design and General Building Design in accordance with the building regulations and other applicable design standards and his experience crossed a large number of building sectors. Brian is a specialist in project management and contract administration, particularly in the areas of conciliation and dispute resolution. Brian is currently and has historically been heavily involved in a large number of projects in the Shannon region for the Shannon Group. During his time here, he has helped in the delivery of very detailed and complex projects both airside and landside in and around the airport. Brian is a native of County Limerick and represented Limerick hurling at all age levels and grades including senior level. Brian was also part of the Limerick U-21 teams that won 3 All-Irelands in a row. Brian continues to be involved in all aspects of the GAA and in particular his now local club of Kinvara.

Brian Gallagher

Brian Gallagher holds the position of Technical Director in TOBIN's Civil I Design Build I Water (CDBW) Division. Brian has extensive experience in the planning, detailed design and project management of civil engineering projects, mainly in the amenity, recreational, civil engineering and water services sectors. Brian holds a primary degree in Civil Engineering and a Master's Degree in Engineering Science, both from NUI Galway. He recently secured two new professional titles and has been transferred to the Fellowship of Engineers Ireland (CEng FIEI) and has also been approved by the Association of Consulting Engineers of Ireland (ACEI) as an ACEI Fellow Professional Consulting Engineer (FConsEI) Travel is a big part of Brian's life outside of work and he likes to experience new places and cultures. Since then, he has gained more than 15 years experience in Ireland and abroad, working in private consultancies and local government. He obtained the title of Chartered Engineer with Engineers Australia, which has been recognised by Engineers Ireland. Brian recently moved from Sydney back to Mayo with his wife and 2 kids and is a long-suffering Mayo football supporter!

Caroline Naughton

Caroline holds a BSC (Hons) in Environmental Science/Geology from University College Cork. She is a Lean Black Belt, with a first-class honour in Quality Management - Lean Systems from the University of Limerick. Caroline has 15 years' experience in environmental science and consultancy working with leading companies across a range of industries including construction, waste and pharmaceutical. She has extensive industry experience with a strong technical background. Caroline worked as an Environmental Scientist for a leading pharmaceutical company, where she had responsibility for the day to day running of the environmental laboratory, technical management of the onsite biological wastewater treatment plant and IPPC license compliance. Caroline worked in central London as a geo-environmental consultant, with responsibility for project management of site investigation projects, and preparation of soil and groundwater chapters for EIAs. Caroline is a Senior Project Manager in TOBIN's Environment & Planning Division. In her free time, Caroline enjoys spending time outdoors and going to see live music.

Cian Gilvarry

Ciaran McGovern - Managing Director

Ciaran has over twenty-five years' experience in building and civil engineering project delivery within the Irish consultancy sector and was appointed as Managing Director in 2020. He has previously held the position of Operations Director and that of Commercial Director within TOBIN. Ciaran continues to advise a broad range of Clients on procurement and risk strategies in the management of works contracts for both traditional (employer) and design build (DB) forms. He works closely with internal and Client multidisciplinary teams to deliver projects in the sports capital, transportation, environment, civil engineering, building and infrastructure sectors. Ciaran is a firm believer in effective communication with Clients throughout all stages of a project life cycle, ensuring risks to project to delivery are understood, quantified and mitigated.

Clíona Casey

Clíona graduated from NUIG in 2014 with a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering and brings with her 6 years' experience working in the industry. Clíona was elected as a Chartered Member of Engineers Ireland in November 2019. She joined TOBIN in November 2020 and is currently working as a Project Structural Engineer in the Building and Infrastructure division in the Galway office. Coran Kelly

Coran has an extensive track record in groundwater resources mapping and protection in Ireland. His achievements include the delivery of the National Groundwater Protection Scheme in collaboration with Geological Survey of Ireland and the establishment of groundwater protection areas for the National Groundwater Monitoring Programme on behalf of the Environmental Protection Agency. Coran is a professional member of the Institute of Geologists of Ireland, a member of the International Association of Hydrogeologists (Irish Group) and sits on the Groundwater Technical Advisory Committee for the Irish Centre for Research in Applied Geosciences. He has prepared and tutored prescribed courses in waste water management, karst and groundwater source protection, has lead IAH field trips and is a regular contributor at workshops, technical meetings and conferences.

Damien Doherty

Damien holds the position of Hydrogeologist with TOBIN's Environment and Planning section. Damien graduated with an MSc in Hydrogeology from Newcastle University in 2019. He has been working professionally in hydrogeology since 2015 and has extensive national field experience in various aspects of soil logging, karst hydrogeological tracing and hydrogeological assessment. Damien is a professional member of the Institute of Geologists of Ireland and a member of the International Association of Hydrogeologists (Irish Group). Since joining TOBIN in 2017, Damien has contributed to a variety of projects including the conceptualization and delineation of sand and gravel aquifers, he has conducted and reported on karst groundwater tracing events and assessed the potential for the exploration and development of new groundwater resources on a regional scale. Damien is currently working on a groundwater monitoring and modelling project which aims to investigate the impact of climate change on groundwater in Ireland. Outside the office Damien enjoys cycling, hiking and all things sport.

Damien Grehan

Damien is a Chartered Engineer and currently holds the position of Regional Manager for Ireland's Eastern Region. Damien has over twenty years' experience in the project management of major infrastructural projects and the management of multi-disciplinary environmental and engineering teams, primarily in the fields of energy, waste management and extractive industries. His primary expertise lies in driving large projects from inception through to planning approval and construction, including the preparation of inception reports, feasibility studies, detailed design, assessment of alternatives, site selection reports, route selection reports, environmental impact statements, planning and waste licence applications and contract documents. A significant number of the projects which Damien has managed, have involved extensive public consultation entailing briefing forums, stakeholder workshops and statutory consultations which were prepared and conducted in a manner to gather maximum feedback on the project. Damien has also managed and appeared as expert technical witness at a significant number of Oral Hearings. Outside of work Damien is an avid taxi driver for his four sport mad kids and coaches both football and rugby teams at underage level.

Darren Clarke

Darren holds the position of Project Hydrogeologist within TOBIN's Environment and Planning Division. After completing his MSc in Hydrogeology at the University of Strathclyde in 2017, he spent a number of years working for a consultancy in the UK. During this time, he provided technical support and task leadership on a wide range of water resource projects focusing primarily on the delineation of source protection zones; hydrometric monitoring, sampling and technical report writing; borehole drilling; as well as providing technical support to a number of quarry related projects across the UK, including the development of Hydrogeological Environmental Impact Assessments to form part of Environmental Impact Assessment Reports (EIARs). Since joining TOBIN in 2020, Darren has been working with Irish Water on their National Water Resources Plan, as a groundwater resource planner. This role mainly involves a desk-based assessment of many of Ireland's existing water supplies in addition to assessing the potential for the exploration and development of new groundwater resources. Some of Darren's other interests include hiking and getting out for a cycle around the Aran Islands when he can.

David Blanca Esnaola

David holds an HNC in Development and Application of Construction Projects & an HNC in Draftsman in Buildings & Civil Works from Professional Formation Institute Philippine Island (Spain) in 2000, and just finished a BSc (Hons) in BIM from TU Dublin University. David brings over 20 years of experience in construction, having worked in Major Construction Companies, and was involved in different project types, such as Terminal 4 Madrid-Barajas Airport, Heritage buildings and different refurbishing building projects in Spain. David relocated to Ireland in 2018 where he has 3 years of experience working closely with Project Managers in small and large scale Structure & Civil Engineering projects from a wide variety of sectors including Residential, Commercial, Educational and Healthcare. In TOBIN's Building & Infrastructure Division, his role involves using Revit to produce Structural/Civil drawings for different projects. Outside of work, David has a passion for hiking, travelling and spending time with his family and friends.

Denis Maher

Denis holds an honours degree in Civil Engineering from NUIG and a diploma in Project Management from the University of Limerick. He is a chartered member of both Engineers Ireland and the Institution of Structural Engineers and has also lectured part-time in engineering at Galway-Mayo Institute of Technology. Denis has over 30 years' experience in project development, from concept/planning stages, through to all stages of design and to final completion. He has worked on projects in the education, commercial, residential, industrial and civil engineering sectors. These projects include major extensions to the University College Hospital Galway, large scale commercial developments and notable buildings on a number of large college campus grounds around Ireland. Denis also has extensive Civil Engineering experience having worked on the M4, the M7 and the M50 motorways. Outside of work, Denis has coached juvenile athletics with Galway City Harriers.

Whilst studying for his Master's Degree, Samuele discovered the use of data, satellite imagery, remote sensing and GIS. Geographical Information Systems applied to environmental planning, has been Samuele's focus since he graduated and has gained experience in using GIS for a waste management company in France. In his spare time, Samuele loves swimming and is always on the look out for new places to explore. He enjoys discovering local culture and visiting scenic places where he can take part in challenging hikes!
