Pulmonary Medicine, as we know it today, formed in 1919 when surgery, directed by the world renowned Dr. Evarts A. Graham, started to dominate the academic program in pulmonary disease at Washington University. The Jewish Hospital, always motivated by the highest ideals, relocated to the vicinity of the School of Medicine in 1927. The Barnes and Jewish Hospitals merged in 1996. Outstanding pulmonary physicians provided patient care and clinical teaching at both hospitals through the middle decades of the 20th century... Our research team of clinicians and experienced ACRU research coordinators conducts a variety of research studies that all serve common goals - to help you fight asthma and COPD and to advance asthma and COPD treatment.
