Our mission to empower VAFP members to be physicians who provide high quality, accessible health care, dedicate themselves to the well-being of the people of Virginia, and are guided by the principle that the family physician remain the specialist of choice to guide lifelong health care is unwavering and supports our vision for Virginia to be the best place for our people to receive their healthcare and for family physicians to practice medicine... The VAFP represents over 3,000 family medicine physicians, family medicine residents and medical students and is the largest medical specialty society in the Commonwealth. As part of its mission, the VAFP strives on behalf of its members to ensure quality, accessible health care, dedicated to the dignity and well-being of all people in Virginia... The VAFP supports the family physicians of Virginia so they can spend more time doing what they do best: providing quality patient care.
