Dr. Alexander Tipton

The son of a dentist, Dr. Alexander Tipton was raised in a small town in Ohio. Dr. Tipton graduated from Miami University in Ohio and The Ohio State University College of Dentistry, where he received is Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree. After dental school, Dr. Tipton served in the United States Air Force. He completed residency at the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs and then served as a dentist for three years at Tyndall AFB in Panama City, Florida. From his training, Dr. Tipton brings a wide array of services that include: IV conscious sedation, wisdom tooth removal and oral appliance therapy for sleep apnea. Providing these services "in-house," which are often referred out to specialists, will save you valuable time. As a member of the American Dental Association, Minnesota Dental Association and American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine, he stays closely connected with organized dentistry. Dr. Tipton, his wife, Emily, and their three children are excited to return to the Midwest and enjoy the four seasons once again. When not spending time with his family, he enjoys reading, woodworking and a variety of outdoor pursuits including boating, skiing and biking. The Tipton family is thrilled to be part of the Winona community!

Dr. David Gilmer

Dr. David Gilmer is a native of Bloomington, Minnesota. He attended St. Olaf College where he received degrees in Biology and Chemistry. He received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree (DDS) from the University of Minnesota. He then completed a General Practice Residency at Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He is a member of the American Dental Association, the Minnesota Dental Association, American Orthodontic Society and the Southeastern District Dental Society. He also serves on the Winona Health board of directors. Always wanting to live in a smaller town, Dr. Gilmer and his wife Katherine moved to Winona in 2005. They love the natural beauty of the area and the diversity of activities available. Dr. Gilmer played soccer at St. Olaf College and coaches youth soccer in Winona. He also enjoys running, biking, skiing, hunting, fishing, and golfing. More than anything, however, enjoys spending time with his daughters, Anna and Claire.
