FIRST PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH

Our mission is to meet once a month, except during summer, for fellowship, knitting or crocheting prayer shawls for members of the church, their family, or the community, as requested by those in the church who know of someone who is in poor health or in need of the warmth and comfort of a prayer shawl. We also have shawls available for church members getting married. All recipients and donors names are recorded in a book that is stored with the supply of shawls... Presently we are engaged in two outreach programs which assist those who do not have the best opportunities in life. As a congregation we participate as well as give financial support to the Soup kitchen as this city endeavors to take care of the poor... We are also a congregation that supports the Presbyterian Camp at Lake Okoboji. Our financial support along with the hands on work we do each spring helps the camp maintain well-groomed cabins so that others can attend camps and conferences to deeper their faith journey.
