ADVENT LUTHERAN CHURCH

Advent was formed when a group of parents in the primarily German-language worshipping community of Cedarburg wanted something new for their children. They wanted to worship in English because their children were Americans. So almost 120 years ago, they organized as a congregation and met for worship on the first Sunday of the season of Advent (roughly, December). We celebrate that birthday every year by welcoming new members into our faith community... Advent is a congregation of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in American (ELCA) and part of the Greater Milwaukee Synod. We are a Reconciling in Christ (RIC) church, which means we welcome all people, regardless of age, race, sexual orientation or gender identity.
