Abby Reed

Abby joined ART in 2023 after receiving her MArch from the Yale School of Architecture and her BS in Architecture from Northeastern University. At Yale she was a Teaching Fellow for the Building Project, helping to construct homes for various non-profits in New Haven. She has worked in San Francisco, Chicago and Washington, D.C, but was excited to return to Boston, where she is inspired by ART's commitment to detail and the value of craft. Abby lives in Cambridge and enjoys running along the Charles, reading a good book, or venturing out of the city for a long hike or day of skiing.

Craig D. Gibson

Craig earned his MArch from the University of Colorado at Denver and holds a BS in Business Administration from the University of Vermont. Craig has had a long and productive association with ART, starting with the firm in 1983. He is known for his drawing skills and knack for thinking creatively about spatial configurations. Craig and his wife, Lesley, lived for thirty years in Andover, Massachusetts, where he was a long-standing member of the Design Review Board and the Andover Preservation Commission. They recently moved to a new loft in a renovated mill building in Lawrence, Massachusetts. In his free time, Craig enjoys hiking and skiing in the White Mountains of New Hampshire and rooting for Manchester United in the English Premier League.

Cynthia Kozdeba

Cynthia is an architect and artist who has practiced her craft since 2000, both in the US and in Milan, Italy. She joined the team at ART in 2012. In addition to her architectural design work, she has spearheaded ART's interiors department. Cynthia trained in architecture, design, and sculpture at Massachusetts College of Art, earning her degree in 1999. Before focusing on architecture, Cynthia attended the City of London Polytechnic and earned a BS from Bentley University. A City of Boston certified artist, Cynthia has exhibited her artwork since 1995, and she is on the board of directors of the Laconia Gallery in Boston. Her artwork is in private collections in the US and abroad, and it has been featured in Apartment Therapy and Boston Magazine. She currently resides in Boston and Somerville with her longtime partner and her cat, Massimo. In her personal time, Cynthia loves to travel, cook, garden, bicycle, and create sculpture.

Duran Fernandez-O'Brien

Duran joined ART in 2014. A lifelong Massachusetts resident, he has called Boston home since 2008, when he began his architectural studies at Northeastern University. He received both his undergrad and MArch degrees from Northeastern. After graduation, Duran joined ART, attracted by the firm's emphasis on hand-drawing in design. In an increasingly digital world, he finds inspiration through sketching the city and the built environment wherever he travels. Duran lives in Jamaica Plain and enjoys staying active by playing soccer and basketball, walking with his dog (Marlo), and taking hikes outside the city.

Eric J. Rochon

Eric grew up in Pennsylvania and discovered his love for designing houses while working for his family's design/build company. He attended Wentworth Institute of Technology and spent his summer and winter breaks working on construction sites and in design offices. While living in Boston, he developed an affinity for New England-style projects and completed numerous internships for architectural and structural firms in the area. In 2008, drawn to the firm's interesting and artful designs, Eric found a new home at ART. He enjoys working with families to create a place that is uniquely their own, incorporating original twists on historical details and a strong connection to the site. Eric lives with his wife and children in Woburn, Massachusetts. An avid outdoorsman, he can often be found coaching his boys' sports teams or hiking and camping with his family.

Gabriela Larumbe

Gabriela received her architecture degree from the University of Notre Dame, with a concentration in historic preservation and restoration. While at Notre Dame, she lived in Rome to study classical architecture up close. She is also an alum of the Prince's Foundation Summer School, founded by the Prince of Wales to champion a sustainable approach to community-building. Gabriela worked as an intern in London and New York before graduating and moving to Boston. Her travels inspire her love for traditional architecture, and she found a shared passion for cultural exploration at ART when she joined the firm in 2019. Gabriela spends her free time painting, experimenting with oils, acrylics, and watercolors. She also enjoys cooking and baking, and she is passionate about foreign languages. She speaks Spanish and Italian and is working on her French.

Jacob D. Albert

An ART founding partner, Jacob has devoted his professional life to celebrating and reinterpreting the rich traditions of New England architecture. Jacob studied at Yale, where he received both his BA and MArch. He is a past board member of the national Society of Architectural Historians and served for ten years as secretary of the SAH New England Chapter. A resident of Cambridge, he spent eight years on the Cambridge Historical Commission. He is currently a trustee of Historic New England. Jacob enjoys sketching and photographing buildings, cities, and landscapes near and far, to use as inspirations for design! Jacob's photographs have been selected for the annual AIA Architectural Photography Competition & Calendar on multiple occasions. Some of Jacob's photos can be seen here.

James V. Righter

Jim Righter started ART's predecessor firm, James Volney Righter Architects, in 1971 and was a founding partner of Albert Righter & Tittmann Architects. His excitement for history and the vernacular, his witty design instincts, and his infectious enthusiasm for drawing and learning have been flagship tenets of ART since its inception in 1996. For Jim, the most successful architecture emerges from the confluence of a widely varied array of ideas. Jim received an AB from Harvard and an MArch from Yale. He taught design to Yale undergraduates for fifteen years. He is an active member of the Boston Athenaeum, serving on its board since 1990. Jim is a Fellow of the American Institute of Architects. Jim lives in Boston and in Mattapoisett, Massachusetts, with his wife, Sandy.

John B. Tittmann

John is a founding partner of ART. He has always been interested in the varied languages of architecture, and how architecture communicates aspirations and culture. John's buildings have a strong sense of place, enriched by the specific history and characteristics of the environment in which they stand. John studied at Yale, where he received both his BA and MArch. He has served on the boards of the New England chapter of Congress for the New Urbanism and Family to Family, a poverty relief nonprofit organization. He lives in Cambridge with his wife, Mary, and spends time in the summer at his camp on North Haven, Maine. His two children are now grown and have left the nest. When not designing buildings, John enjoys painting landscapes and portraits in oil and watercolor. John is an accomplished artist, many of his paintings and drawings can be seen here - johnbtittmann.art

Katie Colford

Katie Colford joined ART as an MArch graduate of Yale, where she also earned her BA. A newcomer to Boston, Katie previously worked in New York. She shares ART's love for details and admires the care with which the office treats all aspects of a project. Katie enjoys all things publication-related-writing, editing, web design, and bookbinding among them. She has worked in various mediums-from printmaking to glassblowing-but most often returns to watercolor, pencil, and photography.

Katie Verreault

Katie's interest in architecture was sparked at a young age through her passion of the arts, a time when she would often be found painting, sketching, and sculpting, among other crafts. Her dream of turning her creativity into a profession led her to Boston, where she started her architecture journey at Wentworth Institute of Technology. Drawn by ART's appreciation for the vernacular and emphasis on hand-drawing, Katie joined the team in 2022 while pursuing her degree. After receiving her Bachelor of Architecture from Boston Architectural College, she continued to work at ART. In her spare time, Katie enjoys sketching, painting, and practicing photography.

Kerryn Tardif

Kerry joined ART Architects in 2022. Kerry is a seasoned office manager and has years of professional experience in marketing and communications. Kerry has a strong interest in design and is especially interested in the relationship of architecture and landscape. She holds a BA in Communications from the University of Maine. Kerry lives with her husband and children in Wayland, Massachusetts. She enjoys gardening, hiking and cheering on her kids from the sidelines.

Loi Tran

Loi attended the Boston Architectural College, earning a BA in Architectural Technology. After interning with an architecture firm in the North End, Loi joined the ART team in 2018. At ART, Loi provides marketing services and architectural support. He loves 3D modeling and takes initiative with the firm's IT, finding ways to streamline our systems. During his spare time, you can find Loi tinkering with the 3D printer he made or building and flying first-person-view quadcopters.

Lyle W. Bradley

Lyle received his BA in Studio Art from Colby College and his MArch from Washington University in St. Louis in 2004. Soon after graduating, he joined ART. Scaling up from sculpture to furniture to carpentry, Lyle enjoys making things, especially in wood. Coming to architecture from the builder's side, he found in ART a firm that values craft and works with some of the most talented builders and tradespeople in New England. Lyle lives in East Boston with his wife and two children. He enjoys coaching youth sports, playing lacrosse, and working on his 1840s home, the second house he's renovated for his family.

Rosa Congdon

Rosa received her Master's degree in architecture from Yale University and her BA from Brown University, where she studied visual art and creative writing. At Brown her work focused on how spatial forms influence people in their daily lives, and she continued this study into her graduate work. Rosa puts this interest into practice at the office, where she is inspired by ART's attentive translation of unique client needs to well-tailored spaces. Rosa loves making things with her hands while finding ways to integrate new digital tools into the design process. She keeps up a practice of drawing and cataloging the spaces around her, documenting details, buildings and plants that she encounters, as well as the objects and spaces she'd like to recreate.
