We're lucky to have a team with wide-ranging knowledge and diverse interests. While many customers may know the names and faces of librarians at their local branch, we love taking the time to introduce more of our staff from around the system... Celebrating a century of service, Burlington County Library has the proud distinction of being the first county library in New Jersey. It began operating out of a small room of the Mount Holly YMCA in 1921 following overwhelming support by voter referendum. The library's first bookmobile, a modified Ford car with a truck chassis, made its debut that same year. Library affairs were managed by an appointed, five-member commission, the form of government continues to this day.
