BETHELWOODS

Before Bethelwoods, the Piedmont Spring Conference grounds was the camp of Bethel Presbytery (now Providence Presbytery) from 1935 to 1960. The plan for Bethelwoods started on October 8th, 1959 when Bethel Presbytery approved the purchase of the property for $12,000. In April of 1964, the Presbytery constructed one main lodge and eight cabins. That following January, Bethel Presbytery also constructed a swimming pool, bath house, picnic area and a house for the director. After seven years of planning and work, Bethelwoods was dedicated on June 6th, 1965. The Rev. Bachman Harris was the first Director of Bethelwoods. Today, Bethelwoods continues to thrive in ministry with Providence and Charleston Atlantic Presbyteries offering a wide variety of events for people of all ages... Bethelwoods offers a wide variety of programs and accommodations for many group types and sizes! We live into our mission each and every day by striving to provide Christian Hospitality to all of our guests.....
