Beth Chambers

Beth joined Catholic Charities over 30 years ago. She places the client first and maintains a consistent presence on the frontlines. Currently, Beth leads teams responsible for the management of a diverse array of programs spanning Basic Needs, Adult Education & Workforce Development, and Family & Youth Services. Beth is a fierce advocate for food security. During the pandemic, she and her teams have worked creatively and diligently to meet the fivefold increase in need they have experienced while protecting the safety of staff and clients. She has a strong network of dedicated donors and volunteers, whose support has been instrumental in meeting the surge in demand. In addition to her work at Catholic Charities, Beth is a Field Supervisor for Bridgewater State University's bachelor-level social work interns and Boston College Graduate School of Social Work interns. She sits on the Advisory Committee for the Greater Boston Food Bank. She is chair of the Executive Director's Committee for United Way of Greater Plymouth County and is representative to their Board of Directors and is the second vice-president on the Massachusetts 9/11 Fund Board of Directors. Beth holds a bachelor's degree in criminal justice from Brockport State College and a master's degree in social work from the University of New York at Albany. She was born and raised in Albany, New York.

Carol Reilly

Carol oversees all aspects of employee relations, benefits, compliance, recruitment, classification, team building, and training. She has over 25 years of experience in human resource management and leadership and leads the human resource and benefits team and supports employees throughout the organization. As a team-oriented leader, she brings prior experience from profit and non-profit health care and human service industries. She provides guidance by leveraging expertise and offers insight with a collaborative approach. Carol is an active member of local and national human resource groups and a benefits advisory committee contributor for a large health insurance organization.

Jacqueline Chernoble

Jacqueline joined CCAB in September 2022. In her role she oversees all Adult Education and Workforce Development programs across the organization, including English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL), Adult Basic Education and High School Equivalency classes, and job training programs for Nursing Assistants, Home Health Aides, and IT Support. Before joining Catholic Charities, Jacqueline served as the Vice President of Workforce Advancement and ESOL Services at Jewish Vocational Service. She oversaw a range of programs with the two-fold goal of supporting English language learners and frontline employees to build their language and digital literacy skills, perform their jobs more effectively, and advance to higher paying jobs; while helping their employers to develop, retain, and advance their workforce. She has presented at the regional and national level and has been quoted in several publications focused on building opportunities and equity in workforce development. Jacqueline holds a master's in Nonprofit Management and Adult and Organizational Leadership from Northeastern University, and a BA in Psychology from Boston College.

Janet MacDougall

With over 25 years of experience in the field of early education and care, Janet oversees childcare and out of school programs, the Teen Center, Sunset Point Camp, and parent, family, and senior services including the healthy families program, companions to the aging, elder outreach, and post-adoption services. Early in her career she has worked as an infant, toddler, and preschool teacher and as an adjunct professor for local community colleges. At Catholic Charities, Janet has worked on partnerships such as Harvard University's Innovation Studios, Mind in the Making, and the Center on the Social and Emotional Foundations of Early Learning with Wheelock College. She has also worked to improve child programming and lead programs through the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), maintaining accreditation for over 15 years for all five of Catholic Charities Boston's center-based child care programs. Janet holds a master's degree in educational leadership from Salem State University.

Jennifer Mendelsohn - CFO

Jennifer has served as Chief Financial Officer for Catholic Charities of Boston since 2005. In this role, Jennifer oversees the financial activities for the Agency, including financial reporting, analysis, and planning, budgeting and financial management, as well as technology services. Prior to working at Catholic Charities, Jennifer served as the Director of Finance for City Year. Jennifer holds a BBA in Accounting from Kent State.

Kelley Tuthill - COO

Kelley joined Catholic Charities Archdiocese of Boston in January 2021. In her role as COO she leads several administrative functions including Advancement, Human Resources, Legal, and Marketing Communications. Her input and leadership are critical to the Agency's aspirations to generate more resources for programs, refine and strengthen the brand, and improve the efficiency of various business functions. Before joining Catholic Charities, Kelley served as Regis College's first Vice President of Marketing & Communications. Kelley worked for nearly two decades as an anchor and reporter, writing and producing content for all WCVB platforms. She won the Massachusetts Broadcasters Association's Best Use of Digital Media award for multiplatform coverage of the Whitey Bulger trial. She was also part of a team that covered the Boston Marathon bombing, its aftermath and ensuing trial, which won three National Headliner Awards and several Emmys. Kelley received her doctorate in higher education leadership from Regis College, master's degree from the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism, and her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Notre Dame. She serves on the Notre Dame College of Arts and Letters Advisory Council and the Gallivan Journalism Board. She also is an advisory board member at the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.

Kevin M. MacKenzie - CEO, President

Kevin joined Catholic Charities Boston as CEO in December 2019, first serving as interim CEO before accepting the permanent role in June 2020. He has led the Agency's response to the COVID-19 pandemic, ensuring that during the public health crisis, Catholic Charities Boston's shelters, food pantries, behavioral health counseling, immigration, and other key services remained operational and open to care for those most vulnerable in our communities. Kevin directed the Agency through an organizational restructuring to create a more cohesive and comprehensive approach to delivering services to clients. Under his leadership, Catholic Charities Boston surpassed fundraising goals for FY20 and FY21 and remained financially stable throughout the pandemic. Kevin has been a member of the Board since 2013. He has also served as Chair of the Finance Committee and a member of the Executive and Audit Committees. A graduate of Boston College, he is a retired Partner of Ernst & Young where his career spanned almost 40 years. He and his wife Sharon have four children and reside in Beverly, MA.

Larry Mayes

Larry is responsible for the execution and strategy of the Agency's programs and services throughout Eastern Massachusetts. A passionate and tireless leader for creative solutions to stem youth violence, he also serves as an advocate on social issues that the organization is involved with including hunger, job training, and resettlement and interpretation services. Prior to joining Catholic Charities in 2010, Larry was the cabinet chief of human services for Boston Mayor Thomas Menino and an advisor for public safety issues for the City of Boston. During his six-year tenure with the city, he helped create the mayor's public safety task force and the city's lead summer initiative, Boston ROCKS. From 2001 to 2004, he was the director for the Log School and senior manager for Federated Neighborhood Houses in Dorchester, where he changed the mission of the alternative school, and developed new programs that reduced violence among area youth. Larry holds a master's degree in public policy from Regent University and resides in Hyde Park with his wife, Sadiemarie, and two daughters, Tara and Ilana.

Marjean Perhot

Marjean was appointed Division Director for Refugee and Immigration Services of Catholic Charities Boston in 2005 and currently serves as the Vice President of Refugee and Immigration Services. She oversees a social enterprise, Community Interpreter Services, immigration legal, and refugee resettlement programs. She has worked with immigrants and refugees in Boston and Cleveland for more than 25 years. A sought-after expert, Marjean is a nationally recognized voice for refugee and immigration issues, offering insight, education, and outreach throughout Massachusetts and the nation. She serves on the steering committees for Catholic Charities USA Immigrant and Refugee Community of Practice, Center for Migration Studies Catholic Immigrant Integration Initiative, and USCCB Justice for Immigrants. She is also a member of the Massachusetts Governor's Advisory Council on Refugees and Immigrants.
