Childplace, Inc. is a not-for-profit agency established in 1966, providing multiple treatment options for our abandoned, abused, and/or neglected children and adolescents in need. Over the last 50 years, Childplace has provided residential care for over 2,000 children and adolescents, placed nearly 350 children in adoptive homes, and provided thousands of hours of counseling to individuals and families... Ken Samuel and his wife, Carolyn, were selected as the Home's first Superintendent family. Charles and Helen Chisam, a deacon and his wife, volunteered to move in with their own two children, Chuck and Danny, as the first house parents. We officially opened our doors on April 15, 1967.
