COLUMBIA COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT AGENCY

The county is defined as a risk county because of the Susquehanna Steam Electric Station and a for being a member of the East Central PA Counter-Terrorism Task Force. As a result of 59 Tier II reporting facilities, Interstate 80 and two railroads dissecting the county, the ability to respond to a variety of hazardous material incidents heightens preparedness... Columbia County EMA's motto is "Informed people make better decisions." Community outreach is the foundation of our emergency management program... Because of being the principle emergency management coordinating entity for thirty-three municipalities, Columbia County EMA has two full time employees.
