David S. Pezen, M.D. is a Chicagoland native. He began his education at Fenwick College Preparatory High School in Oak Park. He went on to obtain a B.A. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Northwestern University in 1985. After graduation, Dr. Pezen began his medical training at Loyola University of Chicago... While in medical school, he was awarded a position as a Howard Hughes Research Scholar at The National Institutes of Health in Washington, D.C. During his tenure at the NIH, he was involved in cutting-edge AIDS research, including the development of transgenic mice containing the complete HIV genome... After concluding his research fellowship, Dr. Pezen continued his medical education in Washington; with his medical degree conferred by George Washington University in 1991. He then completed a medicine internship at UCLA and his dermatology residency at The University of Chicago where he was also the Chief Resident in Dermatology.
