Lyman "Woodie" Fritz

Dr. Woodie Fritz earned his BS diploma from The College of Southern Mississippi followed by his MD at The Mississippi College of Medicine in Jackson, MS. He then served 5 years in the US Air Force offering primary care to service personnel. After finishing his residency at University of Alabama-Birmingham College of Medicine and acquiring his board certification, Dr. Fritz co-founded Regional Emergency Services, offering emergency department physicians for hospitals within the southeast US. He worked full time in these emergency rooms while also practicing as a physician at UAB medical clinics in Birmingham, Alabama. Dr. Fritz founded The Fritz Clinic in 2003 as a wellness health practice. Developing an interest in treating patients using integrative drug protocols to balance the hormones for women and men, Dr. Fritz, licensed as a provider, has additionally prescribed medical therapy in hyperbaric oxygen utilization. In 2010, Dr. Fritz responded to the growing opioid dependency crisis with physician-based counseling and medication-assisted treatment (MAT). The Fritz Clinic has become a front-runner in opioid dependency therapy with multiple locations. In 2022, AppleGate Recovery acquired Fritz Clinic. We will be changing our name from Fritz Clinic to AppleGate Recovery but our services and staff members will remain the same.
