Bob Spinner - Managing Director

Bob is a founding partner and managing director of Jackson Square Ventures. Prior to becoming a venture capitalist, Bob was an early employee at three startups with increased responsibility from Sales Director at Sybase, to SVP of Sales at Clarify, to CEO of Extensity. While at JSV, Bob has focused on cloud applications, security and big data. Bob's operational focus has been in helping startups build world-class go-to-market teams.

Dan Preston

Dan was most recently the CEO at Metromile (trading as MILE on NASDAQ and later acquired by Lemonade), a leading digital auto insurer offering per-mile insurance built using sensor data and machine learning from the ground up. Prior to Metromile, he was the co-founder and CTO at AisleBuyer, a mobile retail innovator that was acquired by Intuit in April 2012. Dan received a bachelor's degree in Computer Science from Brandeis University and a master's degree in Computer Science with a specialization in Machine Learning from Stanford University, with publications across astrophysics, computer vision, and remote sensing.

Greg Gretsch - Managing Director

Greg is a Founding Partner and Managing Director of Jackson Square Ventures, an early stage venture capital firm that invests in software businesses. With more than two decades of experience in venture capital, Greg focuses his investments on potentially category-leading companies in categories like SaaS, Sales & Marketing, Consumer, and Marketplaces (including Strava, Upwork, Jackbox Games). Five of his early-stage investments have gone on to achieve exits and/or valuations in excess of $1 billion. Before entering venture capital, Greg was a serial entrepreneur.

John Otterson

John joined Jackson Square Ventures in 2015 following 25 years at the heart of the innovation sector with Silicon Valley Bank. His last fifteen years with SVB were spent leading LP Relations for SVB Capital, the bank's highly selective venture investment group. An unabashed fan of entrepreneurs, he co-founded EvoNexus in San Diego as well as MaiTai in Maui, which uniquely combines his passion for kiteboarding and entrepreneurship.

Johnny Brackett

Johnny is a marketing leader with nearly 15 years of experience working with technology brands and startups. He got his start in PR on the agency side of the business, splitting his time between consumer and enterprise software companies. He then worked as a startup operator, holding several in-house communications leadership positions at companies like Block (fka Square), TaskRabbit, and Shyp. PRWeek named Johnny to the Innovation 50, an industry ranking of the 50 best technology and digital communications professionals. A fan of the Oxford comma, he graduated from Southern Methodist University with degrees in Journalism and Political Science. He lives in San Francisco with his wife and son.

Pete Solvik - Managing Director

Pete is a founding partner of Jackson Square Ventures. He was the CIO of Cisco during an incredible growth phase of 100X over 8 years to a total of $20B in annual sales. Before that, he was an IT exec at Apple for 11 years and oversaw the Apple Online Services group. Pete is second to none in understanding the mind of an enterprise software buyer.

Victor Echevarria - Managing Director

Victor joined Jackson Square Ventures in 2018 after spending 10 as a founder and operator of early stage companies. Originally a semiconductor systems engineer, he has built and sold products in healthcare, fintech, media, and verticalized labor. As an investor, he focuses on digital health, fintech, labor maketplaces, and enterprise SaaS. He has an Electrical Engineering degree from UC Berkeley #gobears, and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
