Metropolitan Community Church of Baton Rouge was founded on Sunday, December 4, 1983, when a group of about a dozen people gathered at the Lambda Center to form the city's first congregation of the Universal Fellowship of Metropolitan Community Churches (a worldwide movement of open and accepting congregations with churches around the globe)...
We meet every Sunday morning at 11:00 a.m. (central time) at 7747 Tom Drive (near Airline Hwy.) Our worship services are open to everyone, as a safe space for all to gather. As with MCC's around the world, every Sunday we offer an open communion. This means that you do not have to be a member of our church or any MCC or any church in order to partake of the Holy Communion sacraments. During each Sunday service, we have a children's message, which ties in with the message for the congregation.
