MOVING MOUNTAINS - Key Persons

APRIL SAWYER

April is a Central New York transplant who moved to Steamboat Springs in the summer of 2013 without ever having been to the state. She quickly realized she never wanted to leave. Having a strong customer service background, she made the transition to hospitality when she moved to the mountains. She has worked in housekeeping, hotels, timeshares and found her place in vacation rentals over the years. Having worked with multiple companies in Steamboat Springs, she has been able to get a multi-faceted view of the industry. We are happy she found her home with Moving Mountains. Travel is a passion she shares with many other co-workers. She has visited a few different countries such as Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Ireland, Mexico and Canada. She has also spent a lot of her time exploring the US including taking a solo 6-month trip across county with her black lab, Boe. She enjoys spending her days off in the summer camping and riding ATVs. Her other free time is usually filled with hanging out with Boe and her cat, Lillith, a nice tabletop game night or a Dungeons and Dragons campaign. She looks forward to helping you find the perfect property that will make your stay amazing.

ARIANNE HUGHES

Arianne moved to Colorado in 2005 after falling in love with Vail while on vacation. She was born and raised just outside of New Orleans; southern hospitality runs deep in her soul. Arianne spent nearly all of her adult life working in the absolute best restaurants and for exceptional private chefs in the Vail Valley. With the help of her colleagues, many of whom became great friends and mentors, she honed her hospitality skills and helped countless guests have memorable dining experiences with their friends and families. Arianne joined the Moving Mountains team because she was looking for a new career and saw the perfect opportunity to use her hospitality skills within a company that is focused on going above and beyond for guest experiences. In her spare time during the summer you most likely won't be able to find her since she and her family like to head off into the backcountry to do some camping, jeeping and hiking or flying. During the winter she enjoys reading, cooking, and volunteering at the local animal shelter. She enjoys quality time with her family: Eric, her son Cyrus, Corbin their Border Collie/Australian Shepard mix and their kitties, Mister Mister and Zippy.

COLETTE BURRIS

Colette grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area, yet always longed to live a rural, ranch lifestyle. Colette joined United Airlines as a Flight Attendant and was stationed in Denver in 1986. She bought her first house in Evergreen and eventually settled in Idaho Springs in 1992. While there, she graduated with a BS in Technical Business Administration from Metropolitan State College and was blessed with two children, a son, and a daughter. Being a mother has been her greatest achievement in life. Eventually, she quit flying to pursue a career in real estate. Being an avid runner, Colette's mid-life crises came in the form of two Alaskan huskies and a dog sled. Soon after, two huskies morphed into nine and she sprint-raced the team for several years. Seeking a more remote, less populous place to settle into semi-retirement, Colette and her husband moved to Oak Creek in 2018. Colette enjoys all the outdoor activities in Routt and Moffat County. She loves working around the ranch, remodeling, fixing things, exploring, reading, cooking, fishing, RV-ing, restoring old cars, and spending quality time with Jerry, her two adult children, and all the critters. This fall, she is excited to start a MA in Biblical Studies and Theology through Denver Seminary's online program. Being a small business owner for over 25 years, she has a diverse business background and loves her position as a Quality Assurance Specialist with Moving Mountains. Joining the Moving Mountains team has been a fun addition to her high-energy ways!

GABY SIROTKIN

Gaby (Gabriela) Sirotkin was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and as a young child emigrated to the United States. She grew up in California where her early work history included 5 years working as a travel agent. This is where her love of traveling and meeting interesting new people began! After getting married, she and her husband moved to beautiful Vail Colorado to raise 2 wonderful sons. In Vail, Gaby enjoyed 15 years working for a luxury hotel as a concierge. With her great knowledge and passion for helping guests get the most from their stay, we are delighted to have her on the Moving Mountains Vail Valley team. When not working, Gaby can be found hiking, snowshoeing, spending time with her family and friends, as well as planning her next vacation!

JASON SANTUCCI

Jason was born in San Francisco and raised in Marin County, California. He has been an integral part of the Moving Mountains Maintenance team since 2018. In his free time, Jason likes to get outside and take advantage of all that surrounds us. In the summer you can usually find him on a mountain bike riding the trails on Emerald and Buff pass, or camping and fishing. Jason is an avid gardener, raising quite the garden in the summer with everything from heirloom tomatoes to peppers to strawberries and garlic. In the winter he likes to get out and ski, hitting the mountain and also doing some backcountry skiing up north. Jason also has a photography business, taking pictures all around the county and surrounding mountains.

JULIA SALERNO

Growing up in Bavaria, Germany Julia fell in love with the mountains and its associated lifestyle at a young age. She graduated from the prestigious Institut Hotelier César Ritz in Le Bouveret, Switzerland, where she learned the finer points of hotel management as well as the hospitality industry. She moved to the U.S. in 2000, settling in the Vail Valley where she lives with her chocolate lab Marlo. After working in Vail and Beaver Creek's most luxurious hotels for 12 years, Julia then joined the Vail Valley Foundation where for the past 7 years she was a key part of the team that produced the wildly successful 2015 FIS Alpine World Ski Championships, as well as their signature year-round events. With her professional background in creating exceptional guest experiences in the Vail Valley, the position of General Manager for the Vail/Beaver Creek division of Moving Mountains is a natural fit for Julia. She is a passionate outdoor mountain lifestyle enthusiast, enjoying skiing, hiking, running, yoga, paddle boarding and various gym classes.
