Dutch Salmon Greater Gila Wild and Scenic River Act, introduced in March 2023 by Senators Heinrich and Luján, needs reintroduction to continue efforts to designate 446 miles of river segments for protection. Congressman Vasquez previously introduced companion legislation in the House, with support from Representatives Leger Fernandez and Stansbury. The bill, named after M.H. Dutch Salmon, continues efforts begun in 2020 by Senator Heinrich and former Senator Udall.
