The Portland Art Museum is pleased to present Africa Fashion, a major exhibition from the Victoria and Albert Museum (V&A) in London that will celebrate the richness and diversity of African creativity, cultures, and histories, using fashion as a catalyst... Founded in 1892, the Portland Art Museum is one of the oldest art museums in the United States and the oldest in the Pacific Northwest. In addition to the permanent collection, we hold special exhibitions that bring the world to Oregon and Oregon to the world. Our campus is a cornerstone of the downtown Portland cultural district. It's currently under construction for the new Rothko Pavilion - an expansion and renovation project to connect our buildings and create a more accessible experience... The Portland Art Museum's mission is to engage and enrich diverse communities through the presentation, interpretation, and conservation of art and film.
