From Native American cultural traditions to ranching, hunting, and recreation, a rich and deep-rooted western livelihood rely on resilient and healthy rangelands. Covering over 46% of the Earth's land surface and home to wildlife, crucial natural resources and key economic drivers through energy and livestock production, rangelands are shrinking at an alarming rate. Today, due to threats from catastrophic wildfires, urban sprawl, invasive species, etc. this threatened landscape has diminished by half of its original size. The Society for Range Management provides leadership for proactive solutions for fostering productive, sustainable rangeland ecosystems... The Society for Range Management is an international organization that includes people who manage, conserve and enjoy the vast landscapes known as rangelands. We are a vibrant community that learn from each other and share our common appreciation for rangelands.
