Taekwondo, as a sport and art, gives so much to those who accept its physical and psychological challenges and submit to the rigors required to achieve expertise. While some will become highly proficient in defending themselves, and others will go on to represent their country in the Olympic Games, all students of Taekwondo improve themselves physically and mentally, while learning the lessons of courage, humility, discipline, self-esteem, and ethical conduct. There is no group for whom these lessons are more important than our children. Taekwondo training offers them the opportunity to build these important character traits, that will help them succeed in life, both on and off the mat... But many young people in the New York metropolitan area lack the resources to avail themselves of the professional training that will get them started on this journey. Accordingly, the World Taekwondo Foundation is taking the initiative to bring an "After School Taekwondo" program to underprivileged..
