Our library is a focal point for community activities. We provide programs that help nurture young children's love of literature, as well as those that are of key interest to our adult population... Our goal is to continue collaborating with our community organizations and adapting to the needs of Stanford residents, in a way that reflects the demographic, social and technological changes in our rural community... The Stanford Free Library is chartered by New York State as an association library. It is a member of the Mid-Hudson Library System. The library is supported by local taxes, public grants and charitable tax exempt contributions. Though small in size, our mission is to provide the community of Stanford with a variety of literary formats for persons of all ages. The Stanford Free Library is known for its friendly atmosphere and helpful staff. The library is located at 6035 Route 82, adjacent to the Stanford Recreation Center and two miles from the Cold Spring Elementary Early..
