Transportation Services is a self-sustaining department, meaning we get no funding from the UW but instead are funded by parking revenue. Transportation Services operates without outside financial assistance, including UW or state funds. As a result, the services we provide are paid for by those who directly benefit from them (i.e., the people who park on the UW Tacoma campus). Transportation Services does not make a profit for owners or shareholders, like the private sector... Parking is a limited resource, and our goal is to... keep prices reasonable, help people to use alternative transportation methods, etc. We do our best to find ways to get to most out of our limited inventory.
