SILVER NEEDLE - Key Persons

Abby Rose

Abby Rose has made some hand-painted and waxed paper mache boxes that she has stenciled with a pineapple design. Then, she has designed an initial panel to line the box lid, and two pin cushions for the inside. Measuring 5 x 8 -- oval -- by 3 inches high, each box is lovely! Choose from Antiqued Brick Red, Mustard or White. Abby Rose presents four new pin cushion-sized designs... To Thine Ownself... Be True is just one. (The other three are described on our interior AR page) Offered as a chart, it is worked on 30ct (but can be anything you want!) in soft pinks, greens and browns of Gentle Art Sampler Threads.

Baby Row

'The patter of little feet, a voice so soft and sweet, Sweet Child of Mine' is the verse on this cute birth record! Bent Creek has a new *row* pattern that can actually be worked in any colors you wish, and personalized with that Sweet Child's name and birth date. Offered as a leaflet, the finished piece measures approx 3-1/6 x 16 on 32ct. Normally, the Row Series is garnished with lots of fun clay buttons from Just Another Button Company... but this one doesn't have any...yet! If we're talking about a girl... we have precious hearts, flowers and 'girly stuff' that would be cute... and if you want something with dogs and worms on it... we have that too! I think this is a PERFECT row to get creative with your featured baby's future traits! Remember that fabrics can change too, so think about room colors. Real Cute!

Brahma Mama

A glorious hen in her summer garden. She finishes approx 5-1/2 x 6, and is punched using Weeks Dye Works hand-dyed flosses... or DMC. The pattern includes the line drawing for transferring and the needed cut of weaver's cloth base fabric.

Celebrate Cross Stitch

Madame Chantilly has a whimsical cake plate design full of all things cross-stitchers like. The bobbins and scissors, the floss skeins and the busy cats, it's stitched with DMC floss. I'm a big fan of breaking up these kind of patterns into smaller cushions and little cases and fobs. I love the little hoop and stork scissor motif and that spool of thread with the tomato on top.

Easter Bunny Row

Another of BC's famous Row designs, this one is full of rabbits and chirpy little chicks. Baskets and flowers scattered throughout, this is offered as the chart, and stitched on 32ct, it finishes approx 2 x 17. The newest long 'row' chart has arrived... a quick stitch of Easter Eggs, with a simple verse. As always, there will be a cool clay button embellishment pack available this week, that will dress this up quite a bit, and add a bit of whimsey!

Kitty Cat Row

OK... I'm a 'dog-person' but this is pretty cute, just the same!!! A long row of placid cats is tucked between the alphabet letters. Available as a leaflet, once again the gals from Abecedarious -- a shop in Atlanta -- have customized this design with a whole assortment of clay buttons to take your kitties through the seasons from A to Z! Stitched with lots of golds, browns, grays -- the little mice! -- , and touches of greens and mulberry (the yarn balls), notice the 'Z' cat is sleeping! Tons of cute buttons from Just Another Button Company, we're offering the chart separately, and the buttons with placement chart, if you're interested. Stitched on 32ct, this finishes approx 1-1/2 x 17!!!

Little Red

Little Red Schoolhouse Pinkeep - Love This! It's worked with a single red color of hand-dyed thread... on a natural color of linen. You have options! Stitch Count is 111 x 119 - so 6 x 6 would be the finished size on 36ct! Autumn Crow - A sweet little piece, this is only 60 x 60 and is worked with hand-dyeds or DMC. Presented in a small chart format.

Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas - Just a cute tree, this is coded for both Weeks and DMC, and measures 76 x 111. This one was originally published in 1995! How many things in your house can still look good 25 years later (besides you?) Still really cute, they did some larger X's and Rice stitches in the tree greenery for texture - you'll see when you get the chart.

Neighborhood Row

Yet another charming long alphabet garnished with neighborly houses and trees, this is just as cute as all the seasonal Row designs! Finishing approx 17 x 2 on 32ct Summer Khaki Belfast Linen, stitched in both Weeks and Gentle Art Overdyeds, the colors are so rich and pretty. Once again, ABCedarious -- Bent Creek's local needlework shop in the Atlanta area has decorated this row with Just Another Button Company clay! There is a log cabin button, a big man-in-the-moon, and lots of cream and gold stars. Placement sheet comes with the button purchase, Neighborhood Row is available as a leaflet!

Pansy Patch

Pansy Patch's next three cottages - Tea, Cranberry and Pinwheel companion her Peppermint, Gingerbread and Sugar Cookie houses! (There are options on the Pansy Patch website for borders if you want to do the whole set as one.)

Pernice Manor

Pernice Manor - Presented as a single chart (vs in a larger book), this was originally presented at a Retreat last fall. Teresa wanted a sampler style design with worn, faded colors. She started with her border, built the house, and then that bird - she LOVES her bird! Pernice is Italian for partridge - this little guy claims artistic license! Manor meaning a large country home with lands. This pernice roosts every morning on the roof of his favorite manor to greet his friends who frolic around the grounds. This measures 221 x 156 - so finishes approx 11 x 8 on 40ct, and is stitched with a combo of Weeks hand-dyed and DMC flosses.

Precious Friend

Precious Friend is a chart - the 4-1/2 inch design is worked on 32ct Lambswool linen with Weeks or DMC threads. *Of all possessions a Friend is the most Precious.*

Quaker Moon

Here's a fun Halloween design -- the crescent moon surrounding the cutest little Mr Hoot! Offered as a chart with gold button embellishment, all is stitched in overdyeds on 32ct. Finishing approx 5 x 5, the moon slice is full of jacks and bats -- and even a candy corn on the bottom point. You know, there is enough room to stitch something like *Boo Who?* in the upper right-hand area! Or... separate that little owl -- he's precious!

Sam Snowman

A crooked little smile on this guy -- he is worked on 30ct Weeks hand-dyed Mocha linen, and finishes about 6 x 5.

Santa Bear

Oh, this little guy has been a favorite in Punch Needle for quite some time -- and how he's been charted for Cross Stitch! Finishing approx 5 x 7 on 30ct Cocoa Linen, he's just Santa's tired little helper waiting by the Christmas Tree!!! He might need a hug!

Spring Row

The companion to Winter and Autumn Rows, a whimsical alphabet trails across your fabric, with all sorts of seasonal what-nots scattered throughout! Finishing approx 2 x 17 on 32ct linen, this is a fun collection of seasonal patterns. The gals at Abecedarious -- a shop in Atlanta -- have outdone themselves again, and given us placements for tons of Just Another Button Company clay embellishments! You'll add pansies, bluebirds, ladybugs, doodlebugs, bees and even a caterpillar, along with lots of little flowers. Very colorful, and full of Spring! ***The embellishments for Winter Row are also delightful! Little evergreen trees, snowflakes, mittens and stocking caps, birds and pine cones... they're so much fun to stitch with, and add to your needlework!

Sweet Liber-Tea

Six shades of Gentle Art Sampler Threads bring this cute design to life. *Forever we'll be strong and free, Sweet cup of Liber-Tea. Just something fun by Silver Creek Samplers, this measures 66 x 114 stitches. Cute finished as a sandwich-sign stand-up or a little fabric wallhanging quilt!

Teacher Row

Gosh, this is cute!!! The newest 'Row' pattern by BC... you might want to stitch this for a special teacher, but then again, you might have to stitch multiples!!! Worked on 32ct Summer Khaki in yummy overdyeds, there are lots of fun school-stuff things on here. Check out the "i before e" rule in there!!! The colors in this are soft and well-worn, like a 'well-loved!' textbook, the motifs are cute, and the whole thing is perfect for your favorite teacher! Bent Creek's local shop -- Abecedarious, in Atlanta, always does fun 'extras' for these row designs full of Just Another Button Company pieces. With TWO A+'s... the frog, apple, and even the worm... this must be quite a special teacher! Check out the little stack of books, too! This clay pack is stuffed full of extra treats for BC's Row this time around! Cute! Offered as the leaflet with clay buttons and placement sheet separately.

Teresa Kogut

Hello Spring - This is a full book containing 8 designs. All 8 are pictured here if you click the image above... gorgeous pictures, you'll have excellent guides for choosing any fabrics you want. The charts are huge, everything about Teresa's books is lovely - graphics, her special artwork, fabric and floss colors, even the luscious paper! Teresa Kogut has Four New Designs Common Looking - Pennsylvania Dutch inspired, and part of Teresa's early American Folk Art Series, this is worked in a combo of DMC and Weeks hand-dyed flosses. Finishing approx 9 x 11 on 40ct, it reads, 'Common looking people are the best in the world -- that's why The Lord makes so many of them.' Presented as a chart. Teresa Kogut has released a beautiful new book featuring 7 of her original Americana designs. Full of gorgeous project pics, the charts are huge and in full color. Everything is coded for hand-dyed floss and DMC, and every page is prettier than the last. All the designs are featured in the cover picture, so you know what's inside. Teresa has designed a line of fabric: Bright Stars by Riley Blake Designs which releases in the Spring of 2023. The watercolor art in this book is taken from that new fabric line! TONS of NEW from Teresa Kogut - I can't believe all that she is coming out with (I counted at least 30!) - and I have no idea how you can get it all stitched in a lifetime! However, I am here to remind you that Cross Stitchers don't have to stitch EVERYTHING in their stash... half the fun is appreciation of all the cool stuff out there! Introduce me to a fix-it guy who has used all his screws or a golfer who has hit all his golf balls... or a photographer who has taken all the pictures he ever will... and we'll be even! Meanwhile ENJOY Teresa's talents! She has several books with multiple designs in each! Click the Punch Needle block above to see 2 new PN designs. We were treated to EARLY RELEASE of two of Teresa's next patterns while she was here last week presenting at our Summer Event! I don't think the rest of the industry gets these for a couple of weeks, so we're thrilled to be able to present them now! Both are presented in booklet format with wire-spiral edging so you can open the charts flat to stitch from them. Teresa Kogut has New Punch Needle and Cross Stitch Designs Teresa's newest pair of angels... these join Angelic Vision and Pray... but are slightly larger than those first two. Finishing approx 9 x 9 on 32ct, they are NOT stitched with hand-dyed flosses like Teresa usually uses. These are a little more on the challenging side to work because those are all solid DMC colors and you change them OFTEN! (Rejoice features 40 colors!) Anyway, totally delightful, make sure to see Pray and Angelic Vision if you like these but need a bit smaller of a project! Hens in the Garden and Daisy Hill are two of Teresa Kogut's newest cross stitch releases -- I love the contrast of the black with brick reds, mossy greens, golds and taupe. Everything is presented in chart format and coded for DMC or hand-dyeds. Teresa Kogut has Five New Designs Ms Teresa does things in both Cross Stitch and Punch Needle... here are my favorites of her new ones... looks like she's in a Holiday Mood! Scroll up to the top of this page to see the two new cross stitch designs. Teresa Kogut has a delightful new Punch Needle design that is aimed straight at all of us WOOL LOVERS! *Santa knows your heart that's true... so he's bringing wool for you!* Teresa Kogut is a new addition to our Punch Needle Department! Her designs have such personality... you can just 'hear' what all the characters are saying in her pieces! Check out the rest!
