Founded in 1972, the Vermont Public Interest Research Group (VPIRG) is the largest nonprofit consumer and environmental advocacy organization in the state. For fifty years, VPIRG has brought the voices of everyday Vermonters to public policy debates concerning the environment, health care, consumer protection, and democracy... VPIRG is a people-powered organization and proud of it. The bulk of our funding comes from grassroots donations from Vermonters in every corner of the state, and many of our members have been with us for decades. We are especially grateful for our 3,600+ Sustainers who support our critical public interest work with reliable monthly gifts...
