WNAS Radio, 88.1 FM, has been broadcasting live from New Albany High School since May 1949, making it the first FM high school radio station in the nation. In 1948 the student council of New Albany High School voted to purchase a radio station and the FCC granted a license with 10 watts of power. The first broadcast on WNAS was the 1949 New Albany High School Commencement. The format has changed through the years and is currently an eclectic mix of music when not broadcasting sports, interviews, weather and news. You can listen on 88.1 FM, our live stream at wnas.org or on your smart phone with the app Tune In. WNAS TV began in 1980 and has been televising locally produced programs 24 hours a day ever since. WNAS TV can be found on Cable TV channel 25 or 12.33 and A T & T Cable TV on the Government Access Channel. The first program on WNAS was the boys' basketball sectional finals in 1980.
