In addition, he possesses a strong background in good agricultural practices and GMPs, having played a key role in customizing and managing food safety compliance systems. His particular focus lies in developing and implementing regenerative models for industrial crop business and production systems.

Charles Hefner

Expert on energy crops in Latin America and Africa with focus on energy grass logistics. He has been involved in a variety of bioenergy projects in Brazil, Dominican Republic, Mozambique, Liberia, Guinea Conakry, Zambia, Ghana, Mexico, and Argentina

Dr. Hector E. Maletta

His background involves socio-economic assessments for small households in Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and several other countries in Asia. He is author of dozens of books on poverty alleviation, food security, land tenure and agricultural economics, statistical analysis and developed hundreds of projects worldwide with international organizations like FAO, World Bank, IFAD among many others.

Emiliano Maletta is an accomplished agronomist and agricultural engineer with extensive expertise in industrial crop cultivation, applied agroecology, and bioenergy projects. With a Master of Science degree in Agricultural Economics and postgraduate studies in Plant Physiology, he possesses a strong background in specialized areas such as crop models, life cycle assessments (LCA), GIS evaluations, and precision agriculture Emiliano's educational journey took place in Argentina and Spain, where he gained a comprehensive understanding of agricultural practices. Since 1998, he has focused on cultivating industrial crops on marginal lands, including horticulture, livestock, cereals, oil crops, perennial grasses, and agroforestry. During his nine-year tenure as a researcher in the Spanish public administration, Emiliano played a pivotal role in numerous biobased projects within the European Union. He coordinated various research and development initiatives in bioenergy, collaborating with esteemed organizations and universities in countries such as the United Kingdom, Spain, India, The Philippines, Thailand, Chile, Peru, Ecuador, the Netherlands, Germany, Poland, Australia, and Italy, where he was born in 1975.

Matias Garrido
