The Tulane Center for Applied Environmental Public Health (CAEPH) is a multi-disciplinary applied research and training center with a long history in building capacity for emergency response and environmental public health. CAEPH was formed in 1992 as a coordinating center for environmental public health and emergency preparedness practice-based projects; the center continues to focus on the translation of research and lessons learned to practice and workforce capacity building. CAEPH has successfully conducted numerous trainings geared toward improving environmental public health and emergency response, identifying best practices and building sustainable workforce capacity. Since its creation, CAEPH has successfully completed (or in progress of completing) projects stemming from over $75,000,000 in extramural applied research and practice-based awards.
