Dr. Aaron Sitzmann

Dr. Aaron Sitzmann graduated from Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine in May of 2006 and started working at our clinic that same year. He has treated dogs, cats, birds, rabbits, ferrets, rats, mice, hamsters, guinea pigs, sugar gliders, hedgehogs, chinchillas, snakes, lizards, turtles, tortoises, and wildlife. He will work with most exotic animals and wildlife, except for primates and venomous animals. He has an interest in small animal internal medicine and dermatology. He is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) and the Iowa Veterinary Medical Association (IVMA). He is a past member of the Association of Exotic Mammal Veterinarians (AEMV). He lives in Council Bluffs with his two children, Dalton and Elayne Jade, his cat (Shadow), a Russian tortoise (Natalya), and a German Shepard named Loki. His pastimes include: attending church, camping, reading, and bicycling.

Dr. Kelsey Whalen

Dr. Kelsey Whalen graduated from Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine is 2019. Kelsey originally began working in the clinic as a kennel attendant while in high school. She worked in the front office as receptionist, as well as a technician. After finishing school, she returned to us and began her career as an Associate Veterinarian. Kelsey and her husband, Alex, live here in Council Bluffs with their three dogs (Kylo, Rey, and Dobby), cat (Xena), leopard gecko (Little Foot), painted turtle (Skittles), and corn snake (Opi). She likes to craft, shop at HomeGoods/TJMaxx, and watch Netflix!

Dr. Steven Michael

Dr. Steven Michael graduated from Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2000. He started working at the Council Bluffs Veterinary Clinic in 2001. Surgery is his main veterinary interest. Dr. Michael is a member of both the IVMA and the AVMA. Originally from the Logan Magnolia area, he now resides in Council Bluffs with his wife Nancy, and their children Colin and Grace. He has two Labrador Retrievers, Tug and Bear, and a Pomeranian mix named Remy. His past times include: hunting, fishing, hiking, running, and a number of other outdoor activities.
