DYSLEXIA

Dyslexia is a language-based learning disability. This disability is reflected in a difficulty in learning to read, write, spell, or sometimes speak, in spite of normal or above average intelligence. The most universal symptom is difficulty in remembering and manipulating symbols, especially letters and numbers and their sequences. The disorder often appears to run in families. Many people with dyslexia are never identified, but are classified as lazy, slow or underachieving... The Ohio Valley Branch of The International Dyslexia Association (formerly The Orton Dyslexia Society) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, scientific and educational organization dedicated to the study and treatment of the learning disability, dyslexia. This Branch was formed to increase public awareness of dyslexia in the Southern Ohio, Southeast Indiana, Kentucky, and West Virginia areas. We have been serving individuals with dyslexia, their families, and professionals in the field in this community for over 30 years...
