Freaghwood Cottage is ideally located at the South Eastern shoreline of Lough Derg. Lough Derg is the second-largest lake in Ireland and is the third-largest in the whole island of Ireland. The lake is the last of the three largest on the River Shannon, with the other two, Lough Ree and Lough Allen lying further north. At its deepest, the lake is 36 metres deep and covers an area of 118 km² (45.5 sq miles). The lake is a popular place for leisure boating, sailing and fishing. Freagwood Cottage is 2km from Portroe village, regarded as one of the finest lakeside locations in Tipperary, Ireland. The closest airport is Shannon Airport which is 50km away and is easily acccessible. Freaghwood Cottage is surrounded by a natural woodland area and one of our unique features is we have our own jetty for small boats (just 100 metres from the house)... Our price are based on a weekly basis. As we are based in Swizterland for most of the year we have priced it in swiss francs.
