Brian grew up as the youngest child of five in Long Island, NY, and moved to Simsbury, CT, in 2001 with his wife, Nicole, and their five children. Brian is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP®) and an Accredited Investment Fiduciary® (AIF®) who graduated summa cum laude from Kaplan University with a BS in business administration and finance as well as a degree in electrical engineering technology from SUNY Farmingdale. Brian started in the financial services industry in 1993 while living in New York City. He has worked for several well-known financial institutions, including Dreyfus, Fidelity, Fleet/Quick and Reilly, and Bank of America. This experience has taught him that each one of these large corporations have their own unique approach to doing business and servicing their clients. As a result, Brian has seen first-hand how each of these styles have its own sets of pros and cons. It has always been a goal of Brian's to reach a point in his career when he can take all of his experience and knowledge to create his own firm that incorporates what he considers the best of all these worlds and allow others to benefit from what he has learned. Dowd Financial Group LLC is the realization of that vision.
