Cybele Galindez

Cybele is one of our office administrators. She is a student of History and Art History at the University of Toronto. During her time at University of Toronto, she also worked for two years as a musuem assistant for the Museum of St. Catharines, where she assisted in the administrative operations of one if the oldest homesteads in Ontario. Having a passion for learning, Cybele has a spirit for growing in her knowledge of health science and physical health.

Dr. Josie Ward

Dr. Josie Ward is an evidence-based chiropractor and acupuncture provider. She received her Doctor of Chiropractic degree from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College, a Masters degree in Kinesiology at Western University, and a Bachelor's degree in Kinesiology at the University of Prince Edward Island. Dr. Ward uses a multimodal approach to care which includes a combination of soft tissue therapy, chiropractic adjustments, mobilizations, acupuncture, taping, corrective exercises, instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization (IASTM), cupping, and more to help promote recovery. She emphasizes patient education during treatment sessions so patients have the resources they need to help manage and prevent reoccurrence of injury. Dr. Ward actively takes post-graduate courses to stay up to date on the latest research. Her areas of expertise and interest include female care, exercise and pregnancy, treating young-middle age athletes, the spine, lower extremity injuries such as muscle imbalances, ankle sprains, plantar fasciitis, and more. When she isn't in the office you can find her out training for her next half marathon as she enjoys long distance running, fitness classes, and working out in the gym. She also has a background in basketball and competitive jump rope and enjoys engaging in friendly athletic competitions with her friends.

Jennifer Austin

Jennifer Austin graduated from Queen's University with a Master's of Science in Physical Therapy after achieving a Bachelor's of Science degree in Kinesiology from Queen's. She has experience as an athletic trainer for the Queen's University Varsity football team, as well as working with local football, rugby and hockey teams. Her positive disposition, empathy and drive enable Jennifer to deliver client-centered care. She is passionate about empowering clients to achieve their goals, whether that be returning to play, work, daily activities, or optimizing physical function to enhance quality of life. Jennifer uses education, manual therapy, taping, and exercise prescription in her treatment approach. She wishes to fuel her passion for learning by further developing and expanding her professional skills with education in manual therapy, dry needling and post-concussion rehabilitation. In her free time, Jennifer enjoys playing sports such as soccer and volleyball, watching all sports, baking and spending time outdoors.

Rowena Leung

Rowena Leung is a Toronto-based Registered Dietitian and Certified Diabetes Educator who is well equipped to serve the multicultural population as Rowena is fluent in English, Mandarin and Cantonese. Rowena is currently one course short from obtaining her culinary certificate from George Brown College. Born and raised in Toronto, Rowena's palate is reflective of the diverse population who call this city home. Be it individualized counseling sessions or group education sessions, Rowena's goal is always to provide practical and tangible nutrition tips for individuals to take home and incorporate into his/her own daily lives. Rowena is very focused on providing patient centered care as she believes that she is a cheerleader for each and every one of her patients. From a patient's perspective, Rowena is often described as optimistic, approachable, friendly, energetic and makes recommendations that are realistic and achievable for the individual. Rowena shares her nutrition knowledge with the general public through different channels. She posts regularly on her blog, www.rowenarecommends.com, where every Wednesday is Wellness Wednesday and every Sunday is Skincare Sunday. Rowena regularly accepts media requests from Fairchild TV & Radio, OMNI TV and various newspapers & Rogers TV. During Rowena's down time, you can find her trying out new restaurants all over the GTA with her friends. Brunch is her favourite meal! Rowena recently became a new mother to a baby girl. You may also catch her walking her mini golden doodle (Millie) in and around the city. Rowena also loves to run outdoors and enjoys a Reformers Pilates class from time to time.

Sarah Henriques

Sarah is dedicated to providing focused and attentive care to help her patients improve their health and well-being. Sarah graduated from Sutherland-Chan School and Teaching Clinic in 2011 and joined the team at Fairlawn Physiotherapy soon after. Sarah has built a thriving practice working with a wide range of patients, ages 10 - 98, treating conditions such as overuse injuries, post-operative rehabilitation, postural dysfunction, neurological disorders, and chronic pain syndromes. Sarah uses a variety of techniques, always tailored to the needs and preferences of her patient, including Swedish massage, muscle energy technique, trigger point therapy and myofascial release. With her quietude, Sarah encourages her patients to make the most of their sessions by tuning out the outside world, connecting to their bodies and allowing for a restorative state of calm. When not at the clinic Sarah enjoys being outdoors running and hiking or indoors seeing live theatre or visiting the AGO.

Tanya Gilchrist

Tanya Gilchrist, RMT, comes to us with her experienced touch and enthusiastically caring personality from a variety of health care settings since 2002. Tanya has internationally accredited certification in Paediatric Massage with The Liddle Kids Foundation. Her appreciation for finding joy in her work is evident with techniques that go beyond physical touch to help facilitate comfort and relief from various clinical conditions and presentations. She enjoys the challenge of finding ways to creatively promote relaxation in/with the process of releasing muscle tension. Sharing touch therapy with families, children, caregivers and peers is her aspiration and career. "With the use of a touch of therapy we can nurture growth; physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually."

Tazim Dhanani

Tazim Dhanani graduated from McMaster University in 1999 with a second degree in Physiotherapy. She gained extensive experience in rehabilitation medicine and individual program design through positions of increasing responsibility at several clinics in the GTA and at Sick Kids hospital as both a Kinesiologist and Physiotherapist. Tazim has completed numerous post-graduate courses (McKenzie, Sahrmann, Mulligan, NDT, Level 3 manual therapy) with an emphasis in orthopaedics, manual therapy, and pediatrics. She has most recently completed her training in vestibular therapy and concussion rehab. Prior to opening Fairlawn Physiotherapy, Tazim was an owner/Clinic Director of a rehabilitation practice in Etobicoke from 2005-2010. Her professional goals include staying active in the clinical side while developing a multidisciplinary clinic to serve the North Toronto community where she has made her home for almost 20 years. Tazim strives to provide patient centred care using education, manual therapy, and exercise prescription to achieve maximal function and optimal quality of life. In her spare time, she enjoys running, spending time with her kids, and travelling.

Tim Lin

Tim received his Master of Physical Therapy Degree in 2017 from Queen's University after completing his Honours Bachelor of Science degree in Biology at the University of Waterloo in 2011. After graduation, Tim has practiced extensively in orthopaedic physiotherapy. As a physiotherapist, Tim conducts detailed assessments and uses which serves as a basis for formulating comprehensive treatment plans for his patients. Tim utilizes a variety of evidence-based techniques including manual therapy, acupuncture/dry needling, exercise prescription, taping, and electrophysical modalities along with active patient participation and education to achieve maximal recovery outcomes for his patients. As an expert in health and rehabilitation, Tim truly believes in empowering his patients in their own healing journey. Tim strives to stay up-to-date with the latest clinical research evidence. He has a strong interest in orthopaedics, vestibular, and temporomandibular (TMJ) conditions. He has taken courses in traditional Chinese acupuncture, intramuscular stimulation (IMS) or trigger point dry needling, Mulligans Mobilization with Movement, Functional Range Release, functional strength and conditioning, Kinetic Link Training (KLT), vestibular rehabilitation, and temporomandibular disorders. He has plans to undertake training for concussion rehabilitation. In his spare time, Tim is an avid billiards player, and enjoys hiking, cycling, and playing Ultimate Frisbee with his friends and family.
