A member of the McNamara • Salvia team in Boston for over 20 years, Mr. McCarthy possesses a detailed approach to structural design and project management. Adam is well-rounded in all aspects of complex structural systems, as well as respected throughout the industry for his experience and strong collaborative skills. In his spare time, he shares his expertise as a structural advisor to architectural thesis candidates at the Boston Architectural College.
Mr. Bonnar has been working at the Boston office since 2004. He focuses on projects that require complex and challenging analysis and design across all market sectors. In addition to structural design work, he works closely with our internal MACRO Workshop to develop new analysis and design tools to enable our engineers to analyze, design, and optimize structures quickly and efficiently. He also serves a key role in the technical training of our younger staff. Alex is a member of the Boston Society of Civil Engineers Outreach Committee, which organizes events and competitions for K-12 students to promote and raise awareness of the civil engineering profession.

An accomplished design professional, Mr. O'Rourke joined McNamara • Salvia's Boston office in 2001. Brendan has a broad range of design experience covering numerous market sectors and includes the design of major structural undertakings throughout the Boston and New England area. He has a pragmatic and collaborative approach, with an adaptive style that lends well to projects of all sizes and construction types. As a Team Leader in the Boston office, he provides mentorship and guidance to others and as a leading member of the standards group plays an active role in advancing the offices' deliverables and QA/QC processes. Brendan has a reputation as a valued project team member bringing creative, cost-effective, and timely solutions to even the most complex of problems. Most recently, Brendan played a lead role in the Bulfinch Crossing redevelopment, including the new State Street global headquarters at One Congress and The Sudbury.
Mr. Maltais has over 15 years of experience with every building material in an array of market sectors which include residential, office, healthcare, senior living, hospitality, laboratory, renovation, special structures, tall buildings, and peer reviews. This range of project experience and depth of knowledge has allowed Bryan to creatively solve unique and challenging problems. Bryan is passionate about Mass Timber and leads these initiatives at McNamara • Salvia; managing in-house research, design aids and knowledge, and assisting with the promotion & design of Mass Timber's use for our clientele.

Since the opening of McNamara • Salvia's New York City office, Carlos has helped to manage the concrete design team on numerous primarily residential towers as represented below.

Mr. Muniz has over twelve years of structural engineering experience, with the last year and a half at McNamara • Salvia in our West Palm Beach office. Javier is highly skilled in wood framing, steel, and concrete design. He has successfully led project teams of various sizes from concept and design through implementation and construction.

A Principal in our Boston office, Mr. Matuszewski specializes in a range of complex project types including large-scale urban mixed-use, retail, high-rise residential, suburban office, laboratory, as well as intricate renovation and adaptive reuse projects. Experienced and skilled in conventional, fast-track and integrated project delivery methods, John is a strong collaborator, acknowledged for his creativity and proactive yet pragmatic approach to projects. With more than 30 years of professional experience - 26 of those years with McNamara • Salvia - he is particularly skilled at developing high-performing and cost-effective structural solutions for a wide range of clients.
Mr. Salvia has been practicing structural engineering in Boston for over 35 years and has gained experience in virtually all types of structures. Joe is one of the Founding Principals of McNamara • Salvia and has designed some of the most widely recognized structures in New England. Joe has been especially innovative in low to mid-rise suburban office buildings, hospitals, and laboratory buildings. Cost-effective structural systems have been developed for many different owner programs. Experience with projects throughout the United States allows the continual infusion of the latest construction techniques to provide for a quality building.

Juan David Restrepo is the Director of Field Operations in our New York City office. He is our chief inspector who oversees the field inspections team and reviews construction documents while serving as a liaison between the design and the construction team. With over 15 years in the industry, and leading project teams of all sizes, Juan David has significant experience in reinforced high-performance concrete structures. His experience includes tall buildings, hospitality, retail, residential, commercial, and healthcare projects.
Mr. Fink has over 17 years of high-rise structural engineering experience and joined McNamara • Salvia's New York office in 2021. Marcus is a specialist in finite-element analysis and lateral system design of high-rise buildings, stadiums, airports, and educational institutions in wind and seismic environments, which he applied to developments such as World Trade Center Tower 3, One Madison Park, Citi Field, Mercedes-Benz Stadium, to name a few. He works closely with clients, architects, contractors, and project teams to ensure seamless coordination and timely project deliverables.

Based in McNamara • Salvia's Boston office, Mr. Aho has been with the firm since 1996. Mark's primary responsibilities involve the day-to-day management of the Boston Engineering staff, while still providing project management on various small to large-scale projects. He is involved in many of the firm's most technical and challenging projects in the Boston office in addition to our other offices, including renovation, residential, education, office, retail and mixed-use projects.
Mr. Nirenberg has managed many large-scale and mixed-use projects ranging from high-rise towers to retail, residential, and office buildings. Mathew has almost 15 years of experience in bringing together large teams of stakeholders, architects, and engineers around a single structure. His market sector proficiency includes hospitality and resort, retail, multi-story residential and commercial, healthcare, parking, and threshold
Based in our Boston office, Mr. Atkinson benefits from 26 years of experience in structural engineering project design. His project experience ranges from retail and mixed-use developments to health care and biotechnology. He oversees production of the firm's structural engineering designs including initial building studies, drawings, and 3-dimensional models. Working closely with clients and members of the McNamara • Salvia team, Neil ensures each project study reflects efficiency and design intent.

She has played a pivotal role in navigating and contributing to a variety of projects from the intricacies of high-rise towers to interior renovations, Rachel's journey has been defined by dedication to precision, innovation, and a steadfast commitment to aligning each project with the owner's vision. She is actively involved in community outreach and her roots serve as a guiding force, ensuring that engineering solutions are not only technically sound but also resonate with the unique needs and values of the local community.

Mr. Bahjat has over nine years of structural design experience with the past eight years at McNamara • Salvia in our Boston office. Rami is the Director of our Facilities Services Team which specializes in post-occupancy work such as tenant fit-out, renovations, existing framing assessment, etc. Rami's experience includes high-rise residential, research & laboratory, education, entertainment, and office projects. He provides creative and efficient structural design solutions, ultimately delivering quality projects on time and within budget. He has demonstrated quality leadership roles and strong collaborative skills in various projects for the firm.

River Landing is a 2,000,000 SF development consisting of residences, office, retail, parking and entertainment. Two residential towers-one 25-story and one 27-story-reside atop a 12-story parking garage that offers 2,200 spaces. In total, the complex has 528 units and, between the towers, sits a tropical landscaped amenities deck, an Olympic-sized lap pool, and a spa. The separate seven-story structure is the power center of River Landing, offering 345,000 SF of retail on four stories and 136,000 SF of office space on the remaining three stories. The retail component has a steel-frame skin with glass and precast concrete, while the residential towers and garage are composed of a concrete structure with glass, block and stucco.
The Wyndham Grand Resort on Clearwater Beach is comprised of two 15-story towers and 750,000 SF. The northern tower holds a 343-key hotel accompanied by 22,000 SF of meeting space and a 10,632 SF ball-room. The residency is located in the southern tower and contains 105 units of timeshare suites with two- and four-bedroom layouts. The buildings are connected with a spa, fitness center and amenities. There is also an outdoor deck with a pool, bar and grill. The 550-space below-grade garage has flood water velocity mitigation and breakaway walls.
