NYSARC

The Arc New York, formerly known as NYSARC, was founded in 1949 to serve a critical mission - to improve the quality of life for people with developmental and other disabilities. What started as a support group and day nursery for families coping with these disabilities has grown to become the largest nonprofit in New York State, providing supports, services, and advocacy for people with developmental and intellectual disabilities... Every day, Chapter staff are doing the work to make our mission of providing people with intellectual, developmental, and other disabilities the ordinary and extraordinary opportunities of life a reality. The Arc New York shares stories from our Chapters and messages from the organization in our CONNECTIONS newsletter to celebrate those efforts and demonstrate how our mission is being realized across the state... We are working every day to strengthen our system of supports and provide opportunity and inclusion for people with disabilities
