Orinda Books, located in Village Square since 1976, is proud to be Contra Costa County's largest independent bookstore... Our author readings and book signings attract people from all over the Bay Area, and we are particularly proud to offer shelf space and reading events to local authors. Our ceramics exhibitions featuring work by Orinda artist Gerry Wallace have become sell-out hits. Gerry has a permanent display at the store which she replenishes weekly. We also feature paintings for sale by local artists on our dedicated gallery wall... We provide a diverse range of books and have a large inventory covering travel, fiction, history, biography, current affairs, poetry, nature, and science. Our children's department is extensive and inviting. Besides books, we carry puzzles, toys, cards, and calendars, as well as locally-made chocolate, olive oil, ceramics, and artwork. We support authors and artists and provide a great space for exhibitions and events.
