Doug Ware

Doug has been around welding and metal since he was young. After high school, he chose to follow a Bachelor's degree in science at Vancouver Island University but, three years later, he was back on familiar grounds, working in the welding trade. He continued working in Western Canada - BC and Alberta - and attended BCIT, NIC, SAIT, all for welding. Before becoming a part of the RKO team, Doug had applied his gained experience in the structural and oil and gas industries in Western Canada, to build and run his own business. He joined RKO as the Operations Manager in 2011, bringing his combined experience in the technical and business sides of the industry, along with his fresh insight. He has been a valued member of the executive management team since.

Steve Arklie

Steve joined the RKO as a co-op student while he was completing his degree in Engineering from Dalhousie University. After a few years of working in consulting, Steve returned to RKO in 2005 as project manager. Soon after, his hard work and extensive knowledge gained him an additional role in design and engineering. His leading role in the company was recognized in 2013, with his promotion to GM, VP Engineering and Operations. Steve is an active member of the engineering community. He acts as a mentor to younger engineers through the EIT mentoring program. He is also a member of the CISC Education and Research Council and the Canam Advisory Council.

Stewart Clark - VP of Sales

Stewart joined the RKO team upon his return to Canada in 1988 and has since made his way through nearly every aspect of the company. His experience in the shop, on site, surveying, project managing and estimating place him in good stead for his present position of V.P. Stewart's extensive contacts in the industry, through involvement with CANS, as a board member with the NSCSC, as a past board member of DCI, ensure RKO has access to the latest projects. Stewart obtained his G.S.C. designation in project management, as well as obtained the Executive Certificate in Construction Leadership at Dalhousie University.

Tom Skinner

Tom joined RKO Steel in 1992. Since then, he has been part of the company's growth, has faced challenges and helped overcome them. Tom knows the company and its people well and has a broad understanding of the industry. As Vice President of Finance and a valuable member of the Executive, he oversees all finance and accounting activities of the organization. Both older and newer employees of RKO often turn to him for his leadership and guidance. His experience is recognized beyond the company. He has served as a member of the Board of Directors for the Halifax Chamber of Commerce until 2012. Currently, he is on the Finance committee for the Construction Association of Nova Scotia.
