Aaron Miller

7 - 12 Teaching Staff / Teachers

Mr. Miller teaches 9th grade math, produces TRECAtv, and helps run the NaviGamers. After hours, he's an avid gamer (junglers, unite!) and programmer. He's using those skills to upgrade math curriculum and introduce an unhealthy number of super hero references into algebra 1. Mr. Miller married a neuroscientist who is pretty awesome and has a rabbit that's a big jerk.

Mrs. Lucas is a record warrior here at TRECA. She works directly with the wonderful, Mrs. Neal. In her spare time, you can catch her spending time with her amazing family and cheering LOUDLY for the Ohio State Buckeyes.

A passion for education and technology brought Mr. Clark to TRECA fifteen years ago. He started as a Teacher's Aide and became a high school Government Teacher before moving into administration. When out of the office, Mr. Clark is likely spending time with his family camping or anxiously awaiting the next Star Wars movie to be released.

SAFE Specialist

Mrs. Beardmore is part of our SAFE (Student, Assistance, Family, Engagement) team and handles a lot of face-to-face interaction with our students and their families, that have barriers preventing them from getting the education that they need and deserve. She is a wife and a mother to a sassy 2-year-old girl and a dancing 4-year-old girl that keep her on her toes 24/7. Mrs. Beardmore has been with TRECA since 2011 and loves her job!

Ms. Hall graduated from The University of Findlay with a degree in Computer Science. She has volunteered to help children learn about technology and enjoys helping our students with whatever technical issues arise. When she is not working, she spends time with her family and two cats and plays video games.

Mrs. Johnson enjoys spending time with her family. She has a daughter that loves sports. Most of her weekends are filled with volleyball, basketball, and church. Mrs. Johnson loves to be outside hiking, kayaking, or entertaining. She also loves to watch sports, read, cook, and travel. Mrs. Johnson has been in education for 12 years. Mrs. Klaiber is the North Central Ohio Regional Coordinator. One might ask, what is a Regional Coordinator? She introduces new students and their families to the online learning environment. Students that have come to the Marion office for new student orientations have most likely met Mrs. Klaiber! When she is not conducting a new student orientation, you can find her spending time with her family typically supporting her daughters in the many activities and sports they are involved in.

Mrs. Varney is the Student Pathway Coordinator at TRECA! She studied Psychology at the University of Dayton. After completing her Bachelor's Degree, she went to Cleveland State University to earn her Master's Degree in School Counseling. In her free time, Mrs. Varney likes to go on hikes with her dog, go to the movies, and try new recipes!

Mrs. Bull works with the curriculum team to support TRECA teachers in all subjects and grade levels in instructional design. Her graduate and undergraduate degrees are both from the University of Dayton. She's taught in brick-and-mortar and online schools in Texas and California. Mrs. Bull is married to her high school sweetheart, a pilot, and they have two bright and kind children. In her free time, she loves to work in her garden, travel, and spend time with her family.

Mrs. Edler graduated from Mount Vernon Nazarene College (now University), in 1995 with a double major in Psychology and Criminal Justice Sociology. She has worked with disabled youth at summer camps, worked for Job and Family Services, and Children Services as an Ongoing Caseworker. Working with children has been her lifelong passion. Mrs. Edler began working at TRECA in 2009, and in 2014, she became an academic advisor. Mrs. Edler is married and has 2 daughters. One daughter is a sophomore in college and will be married summer of 2020. Her other daughter is active in dance, youth group, and coaching soccer and is entering her junior year of high school. In her spare time Mrs. Edler loves to walk, read, or play some of the 150+ board games she and her family have collected over the years.

Mrs. McFarland teaches 5th grade Math and Science. She is a graduate of The University of Findlay and Purdue University. She loves creating engaging lessons for her students and inspiring a love for learning. Mrs. McFarland is married and has three children. When she isn't working with students, she enjoys spending time with her family, watching her kids' sporting events, anything to do with fitness, reading, going to the movies, and watching the Buckeyes.

Mrs. Whitaker teaches Language Arts 8, English 2, and Culinary Arts. In her free time, you can usually find her reading her Kindle, spending time with her family and pets, or writing a short story. Mrs. Whitaker is also slightly obsessed with The Twilight Saga and enjoys collecting memorabilia from the books and the films. She recently acquired three original costumes from the movie series that are displayed in her office.

Mrs. Martin is responsible for managing the day to day activities at TRECA Digital Academy, ensuring that all students have what they need to be happy, healthy, and SUCCESSFUL! Do you know what makes her heart soar? Hearing all of the wonderful student success stories that the TRECA staff shares with her. When she is not helping a student, parent, or staff member solve a problem, you can find her taking in a ball game (she lives with die-hard Yankee fans), exploring a new city, or trying out a new recipe!

Mrs. Robillard started working as a therapist prior to teaching. She made the transition to teaching over 17 years ago and has not looked back. She has worked as an Intervention Specialist for TRECA since October 2018. Mrs. Robillard enjoys working with middle school students to reach their potential in all that they do, and finds that students are most successful when they attend their live instruction sessions and communicate their needs. In her spare time, she is often shuffling her two daughters to soccer, cross country, track, or trying to squeeze in a run herself. Mrs. Robillard is married with two very active teens and a Standard Poodle puppy named Leo that loves to cuddle.

Mrs. Rush is an Academic Advisor at TRECA and helps keep students and families connected and on track. When she isn't reaching out to families, you can find her playing with her crazy little boy or cuddling with her sweet baby girl. Mrs. Rush also loves shopping (mostly for the kids), playing board games, and trying new recipes to cook for her family and friends!

Ben Burcham

Prior to coming to TRECA Mr. Burcham was an Archaeologist. He traveled all over the Midwest excavating historic and prehistoric archaeological sites. Around 2012, Mr Burcham decided to go back to school to pursue his degree in education. He was then hired by TRECA to be a Student Advisor, a role he enjoyed for 9 years. Mr Burcham is now the Middle School Social Studies teacher and he gets to bring his unique background to the classroom to help further the understanding of Social Studies by our fantastic students. Mr Burcham currently lives in Mount Vernon, Ohio with his wife Joanna, his four children, Jimmy, Juli, Dede, and Charlie, and his dog Koda. They live in a house nestled in the woods and enjoy all of the wildlife that visit their house daily. Mr Burcham loves carving, and in his free time you can usually find him outside carving something in wood or stone.

Ms. Hartmus-Bobo travels the roads of Franklin, Delaware, and Union Counties hoping to make contact with students. Feel free to contact her for resources in the community. She is a Licensed Social Worker who received both of her degrees from Ohio State. Go Bucks! In her free time, she enjoys traveling with her husband and two daughters. Ms. Hartmus-Bobo also loves all animals and has several cats and a chihuahua.

Mrs. Pollock has spent 15 years as a Licensed Social Worker working with families in the Marion Community. She's excited to be a SAFE Specialist and help support and motivate students by removing barriers that will allow them to stay on their path to success! She has a 10 year old son and a 23 year old step-daughter. Outside of work, Mrs. Pollock enjoys spending time going to amusement parks, camping, and attending concerts and Broadway shows. She enjoys relaxing by painting along to Bob Ross episodes, even though you won't see her paintings in an art exhibit anytime soon.

Ms. Salyers started working at TRECA in 1999. She started in admissions and then moved to special needs. She is one of the original employees of TRECA! She has seven kids, 19 grand kids, and one great-grand kid (so far). She loves gardening (food and flowers), making Sunday dinners every week, being with family, cooking, sewing, and working on crafts.

Señora Fuchs (pronounced FOX) is the Spanish Teacher at TRECA. Teaching has always been her dream job and Spanish is pretty awesome to know and understand! She loves to travel and spent a year living in Spain experiencing the culture and language first hand. She is married with two daughters that keep her busy. Her family enjoys being outside, playing board games, and visiting friends and family. Scrapbooking, reading, and watching her favorite TV shows are some things she likes to do when she has free time.

Ms. Mayer is one of our School Counselors at TRECA. She studied Psychology at the University of Mount Union. After completing her Bachelor's degree, she went on to Walsh University to earn her Master's degree in School Counseling. Ms. Mayer loves to spend time with her family, and her pets. In her free time, Ms. Mayer enjoys biking, trying new recipes, walking her dog named Bennie, shopping, and binge watching TV shows. Ms. Mayer was on the drumline for marching band in high school and in college too!

Cathy Burke

Mrs. Burke has lived and taught in Tennessee, Alaska, Florida, Georgia, and, of course, Ohio! She has taught everything from preschool through college in a wide range of subjects. Her experience includes homeschooling, running a daycare, teaching in Christian schools and the suburbs of Atlanta, and now is currently teaching online at TRECA. Mrs. Burke has been married to her husband for over 25 years and has two grown children. She also coached cheerleading and volleyball, was a dance mom, and was a CE pastor.

Go Bucks! Mr. Ruhe is an Ohio State graduate and has been in education for 18 years; although, he swears he doesn't feel that old! Teaching science has been a large part of his life, and he always looks forward to the next adventure! He considers himself a life-long learner. Mr. Ruhe has a passion for sports. He is an experienced coach and still participates in things like golf, softball, and ping pong.
