VINCENTIAN

The process of forgiveness and healing necessitates confession, making amends, acts of penance, and a change of heart. Since 2016, the Western Province Vincentians have been exploring ways to address the wrong of our slaveholding and our participation in racism. We regularly participate as a community in education to raise our consciousness to our racist attitudes and practices. The Vincentian Western Province Committee on Racism, along with the Province's Mission Office, work to advocate for racial justice by raising awareness of institutional racial biases in our structures, policies, and practices. In addition, the Vincentian Western Province is establishing ways to support African American culture, education, entrepreneurship, and research to further make known the truth of slavery and racism.
